Today’s review is on yet another Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick. Now I’m actually starting to feel a little embarrassed about my addiction to these. Hopefully, this should be my last…or maybe second last! Let’s leave it at that!

My Experience with Kat Von D Backstage Bambi Everlasting Liquid Lipstick:

Packaging: As you can see in the pictures, the liquid lipstick comes in a lip gloss kind of packaging – fairly long with intricate tattoo design. Kat Von D, being a professional tattoo artist, does the artwork for her products herself. The tube is transparent, so it’s easy to identify the colour, especially if you have more than one!! The bottle comes packaged in the standard KVD black outer box. The applicator is a doe foot type, makes for easy and precise application.

Color: The shade “Backstage Bambi” is described as a “vivid hot pink.” It’s a bright neonish pink with distinct blue undertone and a matte finish. This is an absolute statement colour. You will either love this or find it too garish. You can’t really be indifferent to this shade. Me? I love it! It’s the kind of colour which re-affirms my love for lipsticks – bold, brash and brightening. With this on, you can pretty much forget the rest of the makeup! The closest (not exact) dupe I can think of this colour would be MAC Candy Yum Yum.

Texture: The texture is consistent across the line, it is lightweight and creamy. It takes very little time to set into a totally matte finish. Among the shades that I have tried, this one seemed a tad drying – just like the shade “Jeffrree.” Having said that, it is no where close to the death-grip dryness of a Stila All Day Wear or even a MAC prolongwear liquid lipstick.

Pigmentation: Pigmentation on this one is decent; however, I did need to do two layers to ensure even, bold, bright colour. The best way to apply this is to apply a thin layer, let it dry, which only takes few seconds, post which, apply a second layer. Do not purse your lips together, as the colour is quite likely to get patchy. I did not have this concern with any other shade from the line, except “Jeffree”.

Lasting Power: The product lasted for about 7-8 hours through light snacks. As is common with the long-wearing formulas, the product breaks down with oil, meaning your food will break it down. Light snacks do not have much impact on this. However, a heavier meal or just the length of wear – do break it down. And honestly, it wasn’t too pretty a sight once broken down because the pigment kind of gathered into the fine lines. You will need to remove this with a cleansing oil at the end of the day. Also note, it’s easy to do touch ups with this. You do not need to remove the entire lipstick and reapply. A quick touch up works well and does not look bad.

A tad bit drying post 4-5 hours of application.

If you like statement lipsticks – you need this in your kitty. However, if you like your pinks to be more natural, this isn’t for you. This shade is so distinct, you will instantly know whether it is for you or not. I’m thoroughly enjoying this one.
