I have been using this product for months now. My hands automatically reach for it after I’m done conditioning my hair. 😀 I came across this product online while I was searching for a thermal protector. I thought of trying it a) because of the brand it came from b) I was on second bottle of the heat protector I was using then and wanted to try something new.
Directions For Use:
Apply evenly to damp hair – from roots to ends – keeping most of the product at the ends. Blow dry evenly with a brush to straighten out hair. Apply on dry hair for control and shine. For optimum results and hold, follow with a straightening iron.
How I Use Heat Protective Silk Straightening Cream:
I take a quarter-sized dab, rub it over my palms and apply it to towel dried hair. Starting with the ends, I work into rest of my hair with whatever product is left.
Rs. 1050 for 5.0 fl.oz/150 ml, it would last you forever, very little amount gets you the results.
My Experience with Kiehl’s Stylist Series Heat Protective Silk Straightening Cream:
I do have frizzy wavy hair. The first change I noticed in my hair was that they were a lot smoother. It tamed frizz and flyaways. It made my hair softer to an extent that I couldn’t help touching them. Also, the product has made my hair healthier with time. It has helped to control split ends, something I had never expected from this product. The time span between two haircuts has definitely prolonged.
But I doubt if it works as a straightening cream because for this purpose we do have better options available on deck. It has rather worked as a curling cream for me. When I am short of time after hair wash, I apply this cream, scrunch my hair and I’m good to go. Earlier it wasn’t possible because my hair would go crazy with frizz and look untidy. The cream is so lightweight and non greasy. It leaves zero residue. Hair doesn’t feel heavy and weighed down. Neither does it leave my curls crunchy. It protects my hair from over drying and adds shine as well. I couldn’t remember the last time I had a bad hair day, but I am really eager to see how well would this cream work during monsoons, when frizziness is at its peak.
If you have wavy to medium curly hair, give it a try. The best part is that you can get samples from Kiehl’s. I got mine too for traveling. For the rest of you, it would definitely help with frizz and flyaways; plus vitamin E in it is a big thumbs up. The heat protection it offers makes it a pick-me-up product. The product is lightly scented, but the smell doesn’t exist for long.
Pros of Kiehl’s Stylist Series Heat Protective Silk Straightening Cream:
- Contains sesame seed, soybean, and silk powder extracts.
- Helps get rid of frizz and flyaways.
- Non-greasy formula, doesn’t leave hair limp.
- Shows results without blow drying and straightening.
- One tube last for months.
- Paraben free.
Cons of Kiehl’s Stylist Series Heat Protective Silk Straightening Cream:
- Availability is an issue.
- Not for ones with super curly hair.
I will certainly be sticking to this product and buy it again when I run out of it.
