I am here once again reviewing a product which I wouldn’t have dreamt of buying myself since it’s so costly. Talk about laying hands on your dream products, that’s IMBB.  I wanted a really good eye cream since long because it was the one product which was missing in my “night box.” What is a night box, you ask? It’s a box by my bedside where I keep the recipe for waking up with the most beautiful skin.  It has Forest Essentials Soundarya Face Ubtan, Forest Essentials Jasmine and Patchouli Night Cream, a body lotion which I am loving at that point and my favorite Vaseline Petroleum Jelly which gives the most baby like lips ever (even better than the actual Maybelline Baby Lips :P). Now, this product will make it a droolworthy box and I really wait after a tiring day to just get in my comforter and pamper my skin: D

Rs. 4950 because I purchased it online, but I think it will be cheaper when you purchase it from stores.

The Resurrection Plant:

The incredibly resilient “resurrection flower” Haberlea Rhodopensis, is able to survive up to 31 months of extreme dehydration. When proper moisture conditions are restored, it returns to life within hours. This replenishing eye balm fortifies and revitalizes to visibly diminish lines and wrinkles, while restoring firmness around the eye area. Skin brighteners instantly illuminate under-eye skin and nourishing lipids protect the skin from moisture loss. Skin around the eye area is visibly smoother, softer and more youthful looking.

Ingredients:

Aqua, glycerin, glyceryl stearate, beet root extract, carnauba wax, caprylyl glycol, Squalane, Vitamin E, Rosa Artica, Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Oleic Acid, Stearic Acid, Palmatic Acid, Haberlea Rhodopensis leaf extract, yeast extract.

Packaging:

The Rosa Arctica Youth Regenerating Eye Balm is housed in a pale sea green glass container. The color gives the jar a beautiful chilled appearance. You can see the likeness of the “Resurrection Flower” on the sticker. The bottle when new has a tape on it stating that the cream is hand harvested (: O)

My Experience with Kiehl’s Rosa Arctica Eye Youth Regenerating Eye Balm:

I have been using this cream for 2-and-half weeks every night and now I am ready with all its pros and cons. First, let’s talk about the texture. The cream has a really thick balm kind of a texture which seems too heavy when you feel it, but once you warm the cream between your fingers, it transforms into perfect consistency and is easy to spread in the under eye area.  It does not have an oily or a heavy feel to it since it’s a balm.  I applied the cream at night around my orbital bone and under eye area.  The result in the morning was a really smooth under eye area which looked well hydrated. My under eye area was so soft to touch and I loved how it felt the same all throughout the day.

I continued using this cream and after a week, I began to notice a visibly smoother and healthier under eye area and no traces of tiredness or dullness was there, which I previously encountered due to long working hours in front of computer. I do not have wrinkles or lines, but I did have slightly dark circles. This cream worked well on my under eye area in terms of hydration, smoothness and healthier look. I could see a reduction in my dark circles because the nerves in the under eye area were getting a proper massage due to which the constriction was easing.

Overall, I am really glad I bought this cream because I now have amazing healthy-looking under eye area and a slight reduction in dark circles. The only problem is that the cream is too less in quantity compared to its price. Rs. 5000 for a really small bottle is so steep. You can see the size of the bottle as compared to my Inglot blush.  This cream will last me for around 2 months if I use it regularly. The cream has absolutely no fragrance.

Pros of Kiehl’s Rosa Arctica Eye Youth Regenerating Eye Balm:

• Made my under eye area smoother and softer to touch.
• Hand harvested!!!!!
• The hydration lasted all day and I did not feel even for once that the area is feeling dry in spite of the chilling weather.
• The texture feels really heavy in the tub, but once you warm the cream between your fingers, it feels ultra lightweight.
• Did not cause any breakouts on my skin but people with really oily skin can use this only in winters I guess.
• My dark circles reduced a bit and the area looked brightened.
• The packaging is so classy and chic.
• No fragrance.

Cons of Kiehl’s Rosa Arctica Eye Youth Regenerating Eye Balm:

• Have you even noticed the price!
• People with extremely oily skin might have an issue with breakouts if used in summers.
• Glass bottle might break and my heart will too!
• The quantity is extremely less for the price. I mean I don’t expect a gallon of eye cream for Rs. 5000, but I didn’t expect a “chotu katori” of eye cream!!

Overall, its an amazing skin care product which is a must-have if you can afford it. Otherwise, there are many eye creams and DIYs on IMBB which solve the purpose. I will recommend it because I have seriously seen a change in my under eye skin but if you take care of your under eye skin with homemade solutions or other branded under eye creams, you will not reach a stage where expensive creams like this become a necessity.
