My Experience with L.A. Colors Bewitched Matte Lipstick:

The lipstick comes in a basic black colored plastic tube with a clear plastic cap. The side of the tube has the shade name written on it. The tube is color-coded and the transparent cap helps to easily spot the shade from the makeup stash. The cap does not shut very tightly and may come off while carrying around. So, I have to be extra careful while carrying this lipstick to avoid any mess. The shape of the actual lipstick is typical bullet shaped that helps to achieve precised application without much effort. Overall, the packaging is not very useful. The cap does not shut tightly and the part of the lipstick bullet remains out, so I have to be a little careful while opening or closing.

The shade “Bewitched” is a nice berry plum shade. It is a lovely shade for the current winters. It looks lovely on all skin tones and it flatters deeper skin tones amazingly well. It can be worn for parties and even can be used for everyday use. Though, I did not find it much flattering on my skin tone, but this shade is very beautiful for deeper skinned beauties. The lipstick sets to a soft matte finish. It does not have a powdery matte formulation. There is a healthy sheen visible on the lips.

The lipstick is decently pigmented and requires at least two swipes to build up the color on the lips. One swipe gives semi-opaque coverage. Two to three swipes are good enough to build up full opaque coverage. It is capable of covering pigmentation of the lips perfectly. The color looks even and does not get patchy.

The texture of this shade is smooth but slightly drying. It causes a little tugging and pulling of the lips. It does highlight dry patches of the lips, so it is important to exfoliate and moisturize the lips well for smoother and healthier looking lips. So, I would highly recommend prepping the lips before application.

The formula is comfortable but these are not extremely lightweight on the lips. I can feel the presence of the lipstick on my lips. The lipstick is smudgeproof up to some extent even after meals and does not budge even after heavy meals. The formula is not heavily transferring, but it does transfer a little on the mugs and the goblets. It survives normal sipping and light snacks easily, but it fades away after a heavy meal. The lipstick is not really moisturizing and feels dry on the lips after some time. So, I need to apply a lip balm.

The lipstick lasts for good 5-6 hours on my lips with a little fading. It can be easily taken off with a good makeup remover and though the color is bold, it does not stain the lips, which happens with most of the bold lip colors.
