This product came out last year in the month of July. Since then, I started collecting these Glazed Lip Paints as I am fond of collecting affordable lip products with different color options. Last time, I had reviewed the shade ‘Tease‘. Here I am reviewing ‘Hot Mess’.
Making their much anticipated debut, Glazed Lip Paints give the intensely pigmented appearance of a lipstick, with the ease and glossy finish of a lipgloss. Glazed Collection includes 18 of the most sought-after, trendsetting colors this season while providing long lasting, hyper glossy, ultra rich color to lips.
This proven iconic product offers shades that range from nudes to brights to deep berries. Cool and nourish your lips with the added benefits of vitamin E and peppermint oil. The Glazed Lip Collection is an instant must-have that accurately portrays the color trends expected to be seen on the runway. A precision tip applicator is provided to facilitate application.
$4 (approximately INR 240)

My Experience with L.A. Girl Hot Mess Glazed Lip Paint:
Its packaging is similar to Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipsticks. In fact, the tube is quite colorful and has ‘LA girl Lip Glaze’ printed on it in gold color. On the other side of the tube, other details like manufacturing, volume etc. are mentioned. A nozzle is provided to dispense out the product. The problem with the nozzle is that if you don’t clean it up properly every time, it becomes quite messy. For application purpose, the nozzle fails! It cannot give proper lining to your lips. It is travel safe though and the product does not leak at all.
This product is not a liquid lipstick as it appears, but is more like a lip gloss. Bonus: it is non sticky. The negative: it is very emollient. It travels anywhere around the mouth wherever it gets a boundary free zone! Due to this, it has to be cleverly restricted within the lip line territory. Lip liner helps a lot with this product, still it settles within the lines of your lips. This particular shade is glitter free and smooth.
It does not set. If you wait after application, you’ll’ see no particular changes. It is hydrating. No need of scrubbing before application. The texture resembles OCC Lip Tars a lot, except the staining part. OCC lip tars stain heavily. You can call it a close dupe of OCC Lip Tars. Its oil and color get separated, if left in horizontal or vertical position for too long. If this happens, then shake before using it.
This shade is a hot red color with nice orange undertones. You have to have white, flawless teeth to flaunt this. The pigmentation is quite good. This color reminds me of Marilyn Monroe a lot. This shade closely resembles the famous red shade she used to wear. It is a wearable shade for parties and functions. It is wearable color even for pigmented lips.
It stays on your lips for straight 4-5 hours. The moment you put it on, it starts transferring on everything you drink and/or eat. Keep on popping your mouth with a finger to prevent your teeth from staining. It does not fade, it just transfers everywhere. If you layer your products while applying makeup, then this habit is going to help here too. Layer this product with similar coloured eye shadow. This will reduce the glossy effect, but prolong its stay and lessen the emollient behaviour.
Pros of L.A. Girl Hot Mess Glazed Lip Paint:
• Nicely pigmented
• Sexy shade
• Smooth in texture
• Travel friendly packaging
• Cruelty free
• Available online easily
Cons of L.A. Girl Hot Mess Glazed Lip Paint:
• Transfers and moves a lot
• The applicator is messy
• Staying power could have been better
Would I Recommend L.A. Girl Hot Mess Glazed Lip Paint?
Yes, it is a very pretty, hot red color. Emollient is still workable. High maintenance, but so affordable that you cannot let this option go. Only one shortcoming should not let you ignore this shade. What do you think?
