My Experience with L.A. Girl Lipliner Pencil Sable:
Packaging:
L.A. Girl Lipliner Pencil Sable come in a sleek, sharpenable pencil type packaging. The pencil itself is black coloured with a matte finish and color-coded end; just keep them upside down and colour-coded ends make it easy to pick up the desired shade. The pencil bears only the shade name and no other detail. It comes sealed with cellophane that houses the other details regarding the product. Also, there is no sharpener provided with this lip liner pencil.
Shade:
L.A. Girl Lipliner Pencil Sable is a shimmering brown coloured lip liner. I didn’t like this shade much as it does not look flattering on the lips when worn on its own. Also, it is very hard to notice on my pigmented lips.
Pigmentation:
The lip liner in the shade ‘Sable’ provides a uniform and intense color pay off with just one swipe. There is no pigment skipping, and in a couple of swipes, it shows full color. Despite having decent pigmentation, the lip liner pencil in the shade Sable is not able to conceal the pigmented lips at all.
Though, it can slightly manage to show its colour over the upper pigmented lip when swiped multiple times. But, it never ever has been able to cover the outer pigmented lips – no matter how many times I swipe it over. It does not crumble or feel heavy on the lips in the process.
Texture:
The texture of the lip liner is creamy and it glides over the lips easily. Unlike the shade ‘Rose’, ‘Sable’ glides on its own and there is no tugging and pulling in the process. While applying, the creamy texture of this lip liner leads to breakage of the tip. When I wear it as a lip colour then it settles into the fine lines while accentuating them. I do not like it at all. The shade has glitter in it which provides with a metallic finish and adds dimensions to the lips. The glitters are finely milled and I cannot feel any kind of chunkiness.
The formula of this lip liner is very lightweight and does not feel heavy on the lips. The formula is neither non-drying or moisturizing, which does not make the wear time uncomfortable. Also, if I wear this color without exfoliating my lips, it clings to the dry patches for sure and looks tacky. The actual product does not have any such fragrance, but the pencil itself smells weird.
Staying Power:
This shade stays put for nearly 2 hours or less on its own without having any meal. After having a complete meal, it completely vanishes and does not leave any stain behind. On top of that, I have a habit of licking the centre of my lips. The shade sable is neither smudge proof nor transfer proof; it is creamy and transfers onto everything.
The shade is very easy to remove; I just swipe cotton over the lips once with Garnier Micellar Oil-Infused Cleansing Water or use Himalaya Moisturizing Aloe Vera Facial Wipes. It gets removed completely and does not leave any stain behind.
