Makeup wearers no longer have to choose between the ease of application in an eye pencil and the smooth feel of liquid eyeliner. The new Glide liner has the soft and gliding feel of liquid that comes in a pencil that can be sharpened. Available in 19 highly pigmented colors, this product is designed for makeup enthusiasts and trendsetters who are looking for the best products on the market as a reasonable price.
My Experience with LA Girl Royal Blue Glide Gel Liner:
This is basically a gel liner in a pencil form, so expectations were a little high. The packaging is simple, nothing extravagant; a sharpen-able pencil with a plastic cap. The body is color-coded making identification easy. However, the cap is not that sturdy and chances of it falling off is high though it fits back on the pencil.
I picked the shade “Royal Blue” from the 19 other colors available. I was on a hunt for that perfectly deep, dark shade of blue. To tell you, I was super disappointed with the color itself. When I swatched, it came out more of a denim blue. It has blue shimmers too.
Talking about the texture, I felt it is kind of not that smooth either. I do not get the full color in a single swipe. I need more than two swipes to get the intensity which is disheartening. It tugs here and there if the lids are not primed. The tip wears off soon so you have to sharpen it time and again to get a sharp pointed tip. The good thing is that it doesn’t smudge that easily when I touch my eyes now and then.
Lasting power is around 5 hours, after which it begins to fade from the inner corners. The shimmers are not a pain and the product comes off easily with a makeup remover, but at the end of the day, I am not satisfied with the product because the color isn’t something I expected.
Pros of LA Girl Royal Blue Glide Gel Liner:
- Good packaging.
- Nice texture.
- Denim blue shade.
- Average pigmentation.
- Lasting power is good.
- Doesn’t smudge easily.
- Good shade selection.
Cons of LA Girl Royal Blue Glide Gel Liner:
- Not a royal blue shade as the name suggests.
- Tugs and pulls on the lids.
- Needs to be sharpened frequently as the tip gets blunt.
- Cap is not very sturdy.
- Fades from the corners.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend LA Girl Royal Blue Glide Gel Liner?
It is a good option for a colored liner if you like denim blue eyeliners. The name is a little misleading though so it is better to check the swatches before buying.
