In this post, I am reviewing a green eyeliner shade from LA Girl’s ‘Shockwave Neon Eyeliner’ range. This range right now has around 6 shades. So, let’s get started with the review of LA Girl Shockwave Neon Eyeliner Vivid.

My Experience with LA Girl Shockwave Neon Eyeliner Vivid:

The fun thing about the ‘Shockwave neon Eyeliner’ range is its bright and poppy neon shades that are look extremely vibrant on eyes. I am a sucker for bright eye colours, so buying this collection was an obvious choice. Except for the shade “Black,” I have bought all the shades.

Starting off with the packaging, this gel crayon pencil comes in a regular, sleek black crayon pencil form with a transparent cap and is a sharp-enable pencil. No sharpener has been provided with the pencil. It has a colour-coded body which makes the shade identification easier. The cap sits securely in place. The packaging looks quite attractive. All the product details are written on the body of the pencil itself. The only con in the packaging is that these pencils are not retractable; rather it needs to be sharpened regularly. The pencil can be sharpened using a normal sharpener. Sharpening means unwanted wastage of product which is disappointing. Overall, the packaging is sturdy and travel-friendly. It is also sleek and easy to use.

LA Girl Shockwave Neon Eyeliner Vivid is a beautiful purple shade, but it is not stark purple or brinjal violet in color, it is in fact a lilac purple color. I find this shade to be quite unique as most purple eyeliners that I have right now in my stash are too dark. This liner will help you to create colourful eye makeup. It would suit all skin tones.

The texture of this eye pencil is extremely soft and smooth. It glides smoothly on the lids without any tug or pull. The formula is creamy and blends well. The application is very smooth and even. This liner is devoid of any glitter or shimmer and comes out as a velvety matte finish on the liner. The formula of this pencil is great and it takes some time to set on the eyelids. But once set, it doesn’t budget. It also does not irritate or sting the eyes.

The best part about this liner is that it is so versatile. It can be used in so many ways. You can use it simply as a coloured kajal, or for highlighting inner corners of the eye. You can draw lines easily on both the upper and lower lash line. Since my eyes are quite sensitive, I have some trouble applying it on the waterline. Otherwise, it just works fine.

LA Girl describes this eyeliner as a long-lasting eyeliner. And yes, this liner lasts super long and doesn’t look messy at all. It doesn’t settle into the fine lines and doesn’t crease. The formula is totally smudge-proof and transfer-proof, hence it survives one whole day, but after 7-8 hours, it settles into the watery corners of my eyes. The brand claims that this eyeliner will last 16 hours but I never keep my liner on for that long, but I can definitely say that it is a long-wearing eyeliner. Those who have oily lids, it is advisable to prime your lids with a loose powder or an eye primer for oil absorption and increased longevity of the liner.

Overall, this is an amazing eyeliner shade to splurge on and it fares well as a colourful eyeliner. I just feel this is a bit overpriced but if you want something bright and gorgeous, this won’t disappoint you. Overall, one of the best shades in the range and I really love it.
