My Experience with La Mer The Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation SPF 20:

This foundation range from La Mer has 20 different shades and I have the shade “Sand 23,” which is the fifth darkest shade in the collection, so there are a lot of colors for lighter skin tones, but not enough shades for dark skin tones. It is a light-to-medium coverage foundation, but it can be built up. It’s an amazingg amazingg foundation and I absolutely enjoy using it! The only thing is that when I mixed it with other foundations, it didn’t work; it works great on its own. The only foundation that I mixed it up with was Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation.

It looks very natural on the skin and the finish is soft matte and not too dewy, so it’s great for all skin types. Then, the price is in the range of 110 dollars which is around 7000 rupees, which makes it a very, very expensive foundation, but the finish and everything is absolutely, absolutely gorgeous. It has SPF 20, so it does not have any bad flashback or anything. It feels very light on the skin, does not settle into fine lines. It does not enhance facial pores and it covers most of the blemishes on my skin, but I still have to go on with the concealer to do pinpoint concealing just to achieve that flawless look, but overall, it’s a very beautiful foundation. It is very long lasting also. I have normal to dry skin and I do not have to use a lot of powder to set it up. I mean I have worn it for like 7 to 8 hours and it hasn’t oxidized on me and almost looks like a soft filter kind of a thing on your face.

I have tried using it with Beauty Blender but I feel a brush works better with this foundation. Another thing, it has a weird, medicine-like smell to it which does not linger on for too long, but it’s not like a perfumed or a non-perfumed foundation. It has never broken me out and I really, absolutely love it.

Initially, I was mixing it up with different foundations, so it was not working, but on its own, it’s absolutely great! The shade “23 sand” is slightly pinkish on me, but it still works, it’s not like a bad shade match. If I mix it up with any warm, peachy foundation that I have, it just you know looks perfect on my skin. It can be worn on a day-to-day basis because it does not feel look heavy. It almost looks like your skin.

The packaging is really great, it’s like a soft matte packaging. There is a muted gold silver cap and a decent pump which pumps just the right amount of product. The bottle is a matte glass bottle which is lightweight and easy to travel around with.

I never felt the need to do touch-ups and it can be a great foundation for brides or anybody going for a party, good to wear even on a day-to-day basis because it looks very light and very nice on the skin.

This foundation cannot be built up to a complete full coverage. It would obviously stay pretty much medium and the texture is like fluid cream, it is neither too watery, it spreads evenly on the skin, and I absolutely absolutely love it!

The only thing is that it’s not available in India.

I have used this foundation in these looks (HERE and HERE).
