I had hauled on quite a few Lakme Enrich Matte lipsticks last month. Today’s review is on a lipstick from this haul and it comes with the number “BM12,” which indicates that it belongs to the brown family. Read on to know further about this shade.

My Take on Lakme Enrich Matte Lipstick BM12:

This lipstick comes in the same old boring Lakmé packaging. It has a matte silver colored plastic casing with a clear cap. The cap shuts tightly making it travel friendly. This lipstick tube comes in a silver-colored cardboard packaging that has product description, etc., mentioned on it, but the ingredients list is missing. The packaging is not impressive at all.

Lakme always brings out some browns whenever they bring out a new collection. The shade #BM12 is a soft chocolate brown shade that is totally devoid of any shimmer. The shade is too bold to be worn on a regular basis but this is a nice wintery shade. This brown lip color is great to complete a boho chic look. The lip color has good pigmentation and gives close to opaque finish in a single swipe. I need a second swipe to make the color look intense and perfectly opaque. I do not prefer browns on me because they make me look mature. I wear such shades very occasionally. It is surely a pretty shade for brown lovers and mature ladies. The lipstick smells a little weird. The smell is strong and stays for quite sometime. This lipstick sets to a semi-matte finish and does not give that ultra matte look.

The texture of the lipstick is definitely is smooth. It glides all over the lips effortlessly and does not drag my lips. The texture is not thick or waxy. It is lightweight and feels comfortable on the lips. The formula is creamy and moisturizing. It does not dry out the lips. My lips stay moisturized for some 4 hours or so and start feeling dry after that or after a full meal.

This lipstick does nothing to hydrate the lips. In fact, it clings to the dry patches, so prepping the lips prior to application is mandatory. The color looks a little uneven. It looks darker somewhere and lighter somewhere else. It easily smudges and bleeds a little after having meals. The color settles into the fine lines of the lips.

The staying power is around 4 hours with a little fading from the inner corners. Once, the color gets ripped off, the lipstick settles into the fine lines of the lips and leaves a light brown stain behind, which I am not fond of. So, I prefer instant reapplication of this lipstick. Overall, the quality of the lipstick is fine considering the price tag.
