Lakme Vanilla Lip Gloss Review

Hello Beautiful Ladies,

A very happy and prosperous new year to everyone…I know that I am a little late in wishing you all, but past few days were a disaster for me….I was told by doctors that I have a missing bone in the first 2 columns in my spine, which is causing them to fall apart from each other and if I don’t undergo a surgery soon I might have paralysis….when people were enjoying Christmas I was waiting for my spine surgery, which thankfully went well, but after 2 days when I started having headaches I was told that the fluid in my brain has been leaked during the surgery…I still have that pain, but as IMBB is one of the ways which makes me happy I am back with an article….the product I have today is one of the oldest products of my makeup collection. It’s a lip gloss from Lakme and the flavor I have is vanilla….These glosses come in 3 different flavors: strawberry, vanilla and bubblegum. Out of these 3, strawberry has already been reviewed.

Packaging:

The gloss comes in a semi transparent squeeze tube, which enables to see the actual color of the gloss as well as he amount of product in the tube. The tube has a screw open cap and the opening is slightly angled which helps in easy application.

My Experience with Lakme Vanilla Lip Gloss:

Color and Pigmentation: The gloss seems to be a nudy brown shade in the tube with lots of minute sized shimmer particles, but when actually applied, the color comes out to be completely sheer. The shimmer particles can be seen on the lips, but are so minute that they do not feel heavy or does not irritate the lips.

Texture: The gloss neither too thick nor too liquidy in consistency, it is just thick enough to apply smoothly on the lips. The shimmer particles do not hinder the smooth application of the gloss. The gloss is moisturizing, thus avoiding the need of any lip balm underneath.

Though the gloss is a bit sticky, it’s not too sticky to irritate me (at least not when initially applied). After few minutes of application, or after a light meal when the gloss starts to fade off, its starts becoming more sticky and is most sticky when it’s almost gone. Reapplication at this stage does help in decreasing the stickiness of the gloss.

Staying power: Like majority of the other glosses the staying power of this too is not very amazing. The gloss only stays for about 2 hours, that too without any meal. There is no special way to increase the staying power of the gloss except reapplying it at the right time.

Pros of Lakme Vanilla Lip Gloss:

• Good for beginners
• Smooth to apply
• Shimmers are not too heavy and not too chunky
• Easy to use and travel friendly packaging
• Moisturizing
• Nice vanilla fragrance

Cons of Lakme Vanilla Lip Gloss:

• Becomes sticky with time
• Not many color options available
• No color payoff on lips

Would repurchase Lakme Vanilla Lip Gloss?

It’s already a lot of product for me, plus there are not many color options. Hence I will not buy it again

Would I recommend Lakme Vanilla Lip Gloss?

Yes! It’s a great and affordable product for beginners, especially for those who are scared of color and want to start using lip products.
