Lakme Lip Gloss in Strawberry
Hi Everyone :pompom:,
Today, I am going to review a lip gloss, which I have been using for years. Well, agreed that I am more of a lipstick person, but when I started makeup, I was also a kajal and gloss person and this was during my college days. Not that many years have passed since then, but my preferences quickly changed to lipsticks as I was disappointed with the staying power of the glosses (howsoever costly the brand may be, glosses don’t stay for a long time). Still I have used and re-used the Lakme lip gloss, which I am going to review today.
Product Being Reviewed:
Lakme Lip Gloss in Strawberry.
What Does the Website Say?
A kiss of color! Sheer hint! Deliciously flavored! Incredibly high-shine! Brought together to give you glamorous juicy lips.
15 ml for INR 175. It comes in a plastic tube with a slant applicator. The tube is translucent hence the product colour can easily be seen. Slant applicator helps to have better control and gives a better finish while application as compared to the round tip. It has a plastic screw cap.
My Take on Lakme Lip Gloss in Strawberry:
Well, this was one of my first purchases in the make up section, so I have a soft corner for this gloss. Though I don’t use it much, but always keep one spare in my vanity bag. Like I mentioned above about its packaging, it comes in a translucent plastic tube. Though it seems to be a coral pinkish strawberry shade, but on the lips, it comes out to be quite sheen, just a tinge of the strawberry shade. One thing which I don’t like about this gloss is its stickiness. I find it quite sticky though it does stay on the lips for quite some time sans eating. This gloss provides sheen to the lips and does make them look more appealing, but the sheen tends to fade after a few hours and you can only feel the sticky gloss. It does not make the lips dry. I have used it over my coral lipsticks also and it gives just the perfect shine. The consistency of the gloss is on the thicker side.
Coming to the fragrance, it actually smells of fresh strawberries and quite true to its name. Those of you who have the habit of licking the lips will eat away the entire gloss because of the sweet taste and the yummy fragrance. It does not have any shimmer in it, so can be worn during any point of time.
Pros of Lakme Lip Gloss in Strawberry:
1. It smells amazingly nice and has a sweet taste too.
2. Comes in a travel-friendly tube packaging.
3. Has a slant applicator which helps in better control of the application owing to lip contour.
Cons of Lakme Lip Gloss in Strawberry:
1. Limited selection of shades.
2. Quite sticky
3. Does not have a very good staying power.
3.85 out of 5.
Will I Repurchase?
I don’t use the existing one much, just for the emotions attached to it, I always keep one spare. May be after the expiry, I will get one more.
