Gone are the days when drugstore stuff meant low quality, inconsistent makeup. Now drugstore makeup brands have stepped up their game and bringing amazing stuff at an affordable price. It’s been a while since I hauled some drugstore stuff but the hype surrounding some items made me pick them up. This review will be on the L’Oreal Pro Glow Foundation in the shade “204 Natural Buff.”
L’Oreal’s Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation is a pro foundation with an all day glow!
My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation:
Packaging: This foundation comes in a standard squeeze tube. I do like the fact that L’Oréal decided to describe the finish, coverage, texture and staying power claims in such a systemic format on the back.
Texture and Consistency: The consistency of this foundation is quite thin and watery. If you shake the bottle, you will hear the liquid swishing around. This thin consistency and texture make it easy to spread and blend onto the skin. It does not turn cakey and it is easy to build.
Coverage: The coverage of this foundation is light-medium, buildable to medium in two layers. I usually do one layer all on my face and only do a second layer on my problem areas. I find the coverage more than sufficient to conceal all my imperfection, hyperpigmentation and post acne scars (See FOTD). I do use Beauty Blender to apply this foundation.
Finish: From the name, you would think that the finish of this foundation is super glowy, but surprisingly, it isn’t that glowy. I would describe the finish as a soft matte with a hint of radiance so your skin does not look flat matte. I actually prefer this finish more than super glowy finish (like for example Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation) which can end up making you look greasy by end of the day. I feel this finish will be loved even by those with oily skin.
Feel and look on skin: This foundation feels very lightweight on the skin. I find that I don’t even need to set this foundation on my normal-dry skin, only a light dusting of powder on the oily parts of my face is more than sufficient. It does not feel heavy or greasy, feels air light on the skin, just as it claims to be and does not stay tacky nor does it transfer on when you touch your face. This foundation does not the look of pores or fine lines; it has a very smoothing feel which does not emphasize the texture of your skin.
Staying Power: The staying power is pretty good. It does get just a bit shiny by 6 hours into wear when blotting is required but not necessary. By 8 hours into wear, which is how long I usually wear makeup, I saw very little fading and almost no creasing on my smile/frown lines, which is my problem area. Very impressive!
Overall, I am super pleased with this foundation. I did not have very high expectations considering it is a drugstore makeup brand, but it far exceeded my expectation and much more. I do think dry skin will enjoy this foundation more but oily skin can also use it without concern. For super oily skin, I suggest you look into the sister of this foundation – L’Oreal Pro Matte Foundation, which has got amazing reviews. I will recommend this foundation.
PS – I know my skin is in bad shape. I had a bad reaction to a skin care product that I used and it’s still healing.
