My Experience with Lotus Herbals Pure Color Lipstick – Heavenly Pink:
This is the second lipstick I had picked up from their website some time back on a whim. The name of this shade was tempting enough for me to pick it up. The packaging is same as their other lipsticks; it comes in a golden packaging, which is very sturdy. The color “Heavenly Pink” looks like a very bold color in the tube, almost like a neon coral pink, but comes off as a much wearable color. It is a warm but slightly bright pink color with pearl finish, but the shimmers are barely noticeable on the lips and just provide a slight sheen. I do wish it was completely matte. I feel the color would look good on most skin tones, especially on medium skin tones as it is a warm shade, but it might not look best on dusky beauties. It is a good summery color, but definitely not a must have as it’s not a spectacular color!
The lipstick has a very faint smell which does not bother much. The texture of this lipstick is good and slightly different from the other one I reviewed before. It glides very easily on the lips without any tugging; it will work well for dry lips as it is quite moisturizing but not as creamy as my peach shade. It’s not very creamy and will work well during summers as well, does not look patchy even after layering. After wearing it for 2 hours, my lips do feel slightly dry, so it is best to moisturize them before application, but otherwise feels very comfortable on the lips. It works well with a lip liner as well as a lip gloss. I did not see it settling into the lines on the lips.
Unlike the earlier shade which I have reviewed here, this one is completely opposite in terms of pigmentation. It gives sheer color payoff in a single swipe, not anywhere close to the color visible in the bullet, but it’s definitely buildable. Three swipes give completely color payoff, and if at all you layer it more, the color changes to a much darker pink. So, I do not think it is best for pigmented lips as they will definitely need more than three swipes.
I like the fact that even after layering it thrice, it does not feel heavy on the lips or go patchy. I did not experience any kind of feathering or smudging when used alone. It lasts for 3 hours with slight transferring after which it starts to fade. But even after fading completely, it leaves behind a very strong pink stain which stays for the whole day or until you remove it with a very good makeup remover as it does not come off easily, which I just do not like ! Frankly speaking, this staining thing fears me from even using it further! I am not sure if they have also changed the formulation in these new shades as I have read great reviews on the old ones. In the swatches, I have swiped it three times each.
Pros of Lotus Herbals Pure Color Lipstick – Heavenly Pink:
- Very smooth texture.
- Feels very comfortable on lips.
- Does not feather or settle into lines.
- Minimal transferring.
- Lasts for a fairly long time.
- Reasonably priced.
Cons of Lotus Herbals Pure Color Lipstick – Heavenly Pink:
- The color may not suit dusky beauties.
- Pearl finish.
- Leaves behind a strong pink stain which is very difficult to remove.
Would I Recommend/Repurchase Lotus Herbals Pure Color Lipstick – Heavenly Pink?
I do not recommend it to anyone due to many reasons – the pearly finish, sheer color, stains extremely badly. It is better to stay away from this one!
