My Experience with Lotus Herbals Seduction Botanical Tinted Lip Gloss – Lychee Squash:
The product comes in a plastic, rectangular, transparent tube with a golden cap that is attached to the doe-foot applicator. The first thing you notice about the product is that it has tiny silver glitter particles floating about in the product, not the kind that would render it incapable of being worn on an everyday basis, but a very subtle kind that would give your lips a nice three dimensional shining effect.
When you smell the product, you will notice a very faint smell; a very artificial kind, like that of Streetwear lip glosses, only that this smell is a lot tolerable. The colour of the gloss is pink with a hint of orange about it. I don’t understand why it is named Lychee Squash. I mean, neither lychees nor lychee flavoured squashes are of this colour. Whatever, it is, I thought it was a pretty colour until I applied it on my lips.
Now, many women love to apply multiple swipes of gloss, but I like to apply just a single layer, at least as far as glosses are concerned. I found it to be very sheer for my pigmented lips. It does brighten up my face, but I really wish it covered the pigmentation. It would look lovely on fair women without pigmented lips. It might wash out the darker beauties. The staying power is pretty decent.
It stays on for as long as 2.5 to 3 hours, without any food or drink intake. It is neither too sticky nor too runny, just the right consistency and that is what I like best about this gloss. I personally use it to tone down lipsticks, or to create a gradient by applying it in the centre of lips over lipsticks and I have been doing this a lot, but I have not been wearing it by itself.
If you do not mind glitters and if you have a complexion that leans towards the fairer side, together without pigmented lips, do get it, but if not, stay away from this gloss.
Pros of Lotus Herbals Seduction Botanical Tinted Lip Gloss – Lychee Squash:
- Nice shade for everyday use.
- Would look lovely on fair to medium complexioned women.
- Non sticky.
- Contains grapes and jojoba extracts.
- Stays on for a good 2.5 hours (without any kind of food intake, that is) which I think is pretty good for a gloss of this price range.
Cons of Lotus Herbals Seduction Botanical Tinted Lip Gloss – Lychee Squash:
- This shade is too sheer for my pigmented lips.
- Has a weird smell.
- Contains glitter.
- I have reservations about how it will look on darker skin tones.
Will I Repurchase Lotus Herbals Seduction Botanical Tinted Lip Gloss – Lychee Squash?
No, it does not look good on my pigmented lips, but I would definitely recommend it to ladies with those lovely pink pouts that we all dream of, sigh!
