Today’s review will be on a newly-launched lipstick by Lotus Herbals/Makeup. This range has been named “Butter Matte Lip Color.” There are around 15 shades in this range. I have picked up the shade “Pink Precious” for review here.
My Experience with Lotus Makeup Ecostay Butter Matte Lip Color Pink Precious:
This lipstick comes in a silver cardboard packaging with purple accents to it. The box has matte finish to it and a lot of details are printed on the box. The actual lipstick is a shiny silver chubby bullet with some purple floral print on the cap. The twist mechanism works very well. The top part of the cap is made of plastic so can spot the shade from outside. The packaging is beautiful and I love it, this lipstick is also travel friendly.
“Pink Precious” is a beautiful pink colour. It is a bright and lively pink shade with hints of coral, so it can also be described as a coral-pink lipstick. This shade is a lovely everyday pink for young girls. I love this color a lot, but this lipstick goes very patchy on my lips. When I purse my lips together, it just moves around and becomes extremely uneven. It settles into the fine lines on my lips. I constantly have to smooth it out with my finger to make it look even and nice.
This lipstick glides nicely but it’s not as creamy and buttery as the other shade that I have in my stash, “Sandstone.” It is a bit less pigmented than Sandstone too! I need 4-5 coats to achieve an opaque finish. This lipstick goes on very slippery and less pigmented if you have lip balm on your lips, so make sure you wipe off the balm before applying.
The formula is moisturizing and feels comfortable on the lips. It isn’t 100% matte, but it’s a creamy matte finish. The lipstick initially gives a creamy finish, but as time passes, it settles into a creamy matte finish. I just love how comfortable it is to wear.
The staying power is around 5 hours. It does fade from the inner part of the lips after a meal, but that’s okay. It does last through the talking and little meals pretty well though.
Summing up the pros and cons:
Pros of Lotus Makeup Ecostay Butter Matte Lip Color Pink Precious:
- Love the packaging.
- Easy to apply.
- Very pretty pink shade with a hint of coral.
- Nicely pigmented.
- Creamy texture.
- Glides nicely.
- Feels comfortable on the lips.
- Good staying power.
Cons of Lotus Makeup Ecostay Butter Matte Lip Color Pink Precious:
- Moves around a lot, becomes super patchy and settles into the fine lines on the lips.
- This lipstick doesn’t perform well if you have lip balm on your lips.
- Not as creamy, comfortable and pigmented as the other shade from this range, “Sandstone.”
- I will say it is expensive because it doesn’t perform that well for a lipstick that costs 675 bucks!
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Lotus Makeup Ecostay Butter Matte Lip Color Pink Precious?
The way this lipstick performs, wouldn’t recommend it. If you want a similar shade that performs excellently, then Maybelline Color show creamy mattes are a much better option! Plus they are almost half the price as compared to this one!
