Hi Girls, this is my first review at IMBB and I was super excited about it.
I have been following the reviews religiously for a long time before buying any product. I found this mascara online on sale and seeing the brush I could not hold my temptation and bought it without any second thoughts. Although,I not much into mascaras but these tubes somehow catch my attention whenever I see gorgeous lashes in the pictures on them. Hope you find this review helpful!
Price: INR 700
Give lashes instant boom with this lengthening and volumising mascara.
The packaging is cute and attractive. The brush is unique and allows you to focus on individual lashes. It helps to separate the lashes and coating each one. The product claims the brush is designed to give volume and length.
My experience with the Mua Makeup Academy Ultra Black Lash Boom:
I have been using this mascara for over a month now and found it unsatisfactory. I like my lashes to have a natural look and the wand coats each lash well without giving it a fake or spider look. It is lightweight and does not make my eyes feel heavy.
Now comes the disappointing part of the product, I have poker straight lashes and I try to focus on a good curl. This mascara did not curl my lashes at all(which is kind of okay as they did not claim so), I use an eyelash curler before applying it. It did not provide any length or volume to my lashes at all.
I found the product a bit more on the drying side and had to clean the wand for the excess product that clings on. At times, I found little clumps stuck in the brush and had a difficult time cleaning them. I often have to wipe it with a tissue before I apply but in this process there is no mascara left on the brush. This mascara does not give the privilege to apply and run when getting late for the office (which I mostly am) so when deciding to apply it you must have ample amount of time .It clumps when more than one coat is applied and dries up way too fast so no time to play around and try to curl with the brush.
Sometimes during the day,I find it flaking on my face in small bits. It does not give a jet-black color. However, I have developed a way of using it like I want. I curl my lashes using an eyelash curler and then apply the mascara to the ends first and then once more starting from the roots to the ends. The brush helps in getting to each lash and holds up the curl until I remove it. This gives me a natural curly lash look, which helps me through the day.Overall, I am not happy with this product but if I keep using it this way, it works well for me until I can get my hands on any other great mascara.
Pros of Makeup Academy Ultra Black Lash Boom Mascara
• I like the brush, which I absolutely adore.
• Lengthens the lashes to some extent
• It stays all day.
Cons of Makeup Academy Ultra Black Lash Boom Mascara
• Not a fan of this formula as it dries up soon.
• Clumps and flakes off during the day if more than one coat is applied.
• Gives absolutely no volume to my lashes.
• Does not curl the lashes.
• The color is not ultra black as it claims to be.
• Expensive for such a product.
Would I repurchase Makeup Academy Ultra Black Lash Boom Mascara again?
No, I am yet to try many other mascaras.
