MUA Pressed Powder
I am back with yet another review from MUA and this time its their pressed powder. Since my bad experience with Silky Girl Compact I desperately needed a good decent compact powder for my everyday use. Since I was placing an order with MUA I figured adding one more product is not going to harm especially if the price is so reasonable 1 pound for 5.7gms!
Our amazing pressed powder is just £1 – OMG. Not only does it create a matte, perfect finish, it helps smooth skin and set foundation. It comes in four shades from light to dark so you’ll definitely find one to suit you! Grab a big powder brush and sweep it over the compact. Dust gently over the face to finish the look and keep foundation in place all day long.
I have strong yellow undertones and always on look out for compacts with yellow undertones to suit my skin. Most of the pressed powders come with pink undertones which looks quite ashy on me since I do have some pigmentation around my mouth. Plus I have combination skin which tends to get oily on T-zone especially in humid weather of KL so I wanted something which will keep me matte for few hours and control oil and shine.
I have to say I did not expect much from this product since it is so cheap but to my surprise this is really a fantastic compact powder for everyday use! MUA Pressed powder comes in 4 shades and I got the shade 2 which has perfect yellow undertones which I require for my skin. Fyi – I am NC42 in MAC and this shade suits me perfectly. The pressed powder comes in transparent square packaging which I find quite decent, absolutely no complains there. It is travel friendly since I roam around everywhere with it in my purse and never had any issues of breakage.
The powder is extremely finely milled and feels like silk when touched! It blends beautifully giving most natural finish. The coverage is not amazing since its not a foundation remember but definitely brighten’s up a dull face giving even toned look. I wear this every single day and it has never broken me out or clogged my pores. It perfect for when you want polished look without using too much makeup, like when you want to go for grocery shopping or pickup laundry etc.
The pigmentation is fantastic, the swatches below are of one single swipe and you can see yourself how amazing it it! Now for the best part, it keeps my face matte for 4+ hours and controls shine. It gives perfect matte finish which I love! I have used this in the evening and afternoon, while travelling in train and it does control oil and does not make me appear like an oil factory! It does not stick to dry patches or accentuate them in anyway, so I feel this will suit all skin types. Over all definitely a must have compact for me and I highly recommend it.
-> Decent packaging, sturdy enough for travelling
-> The shade has good amount of yellow undertones which will suit our indian skin tones well
-> Texture is extremely finely milled
-> Blends beautifully
-> Gives polished look
-> Even out the skin tone and brighten’s up the face
-> Keeps face matte for 4 hours
-> Controls oil and shine for 3 to 4 hours, after which one would need to retouch
-> 5.7 gm of product for 1 pound!
-> Does not accentuate dry patches
-> Does not clog pores
-> Will last 2 to 3 months easily even if I use everyday!
-> Will suit all skin types
-> Availability is the only con since you need to order it online
Rating:- 4.5 out of 5
Price:– 1 pound for 5.7gm of product
Do I recommend:- I highly recommend this pressed powder, it does what a pressed powder needs to do, absolutely no complains! Must try!
Hope the review was helpful, until next time tc and stay beautiful!
