Hi my beauty angels!! First of all, a biiiiiig thanks to you all for such an overwhelming response to my haul post. I love you all. 🙂 🙂
For all those who know me, including the IMBB family, know that I am a sucker for two things as far as all my makeup and beauty is concerned; clear skin and nude natural looks. Trust me, after having tried so many natural looks, wherever I go, I can honestly tell you that it requires more time and effort, than a blingy or party makeup. The no-makeup look demands a clear skin, good base products, good applicators and shades appropriate to your skin tone. So, it was obvious, that when this chic nude eye palette from Makeup Revolution was available at such a tempting discount, I had to pick it up. Are you singing? Because I certainly am. 😉
“What you waiting
What you waiting
What you waiting
What you waiting
What you waiting for!?
For those who don’t know, it’s a song by Gwen Stefani, and the palette as well as all the shades inside, have been named after the song and its lyrics. Cool, isn’t it? Let us begin this musical review. Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock…. 😉
Makeup Revolution Salvation Palette in What You Waiting for comes at a price of Rs. 1550/-. I got it for Rs. 700/- including shipping. Frankly, I don’t know if I would have purchased it at full price, because currently e-commerce websites are offering discounts on the brand.
The packaging is awesome, as usual. It has a sleek cardboard outer packaging, which contains a sleeker and glossy palette inside, with an in-built mirror. The packaging is very sturdy. The only con that I find is that the glossy packaging leads to fingerprint smearing. Take a look at the pictures.
I had never used palettes, and looking at the reviews of luxurious brands like Urban Decay and Sleek, I always wanted to own one. The answer to my prayers came in the form of Makeup Revolution, a budget international brand, and which also boasts of having dupes of brands like Urban Decay and Sleek.
Shades: Makeup Revolution Salvation Palette in What You Waiting For, contains 12 shimmer shades, and 6 mattes, all mostly various shades of browns, plums and pinks, perfect for daily wear, and also for evening wear, if you know how to mix and match, and adjust the intensity of colors on your lids. Some of the light shimmer shades might have a bit of fallout, but most of them settle into a satiny finish. In fact, I feel that using a primer or a concealer underneath will solve that fallout problem of some shades too. The mattes are where I have truly and head over heels fallen in love. These are superb and amazing. The shades are so lovely that they will just open up your eyes and give them the definition that you have always wanted, for a natural look.
Pigmentation: The shades are super pigmented. A few shades might not be that pigmented though, but I have observed, that the shades in this palette become more pigmented after 1st or 2nd usage, when you start digging in. The colors and the pigmentation come out clearly and beautifully, be it a plumy or a brown defined and soft look, you cannot go wrong here.
Texture: As I said, the texture of shimmer shades is smooth and satiny, and barring one or two lighter shades, none have the problem of fallout. The mattes are to die for, with perfect creamy and chocolaty consistency.
Application: Fingers and brushes, both work well. However, I would suggest brushes, as better application brings out the best of the looks. The applicator inside can be used for emergency touchups, nothing more and I did not even expect it to be of any use. 😛
Longevity: 7 to 8 hours!! That is almost a whole day out. Maybe, it stays on for long, as this is my experience, when I had been out this long. This is a gem of a product.
Pros of Makeup Revolution Salvation Palette in What You Waiting For:
- Awesome shade selection. Perfect for a subtle day look or a defined but shimmery and natural bronzed night look.
- Satiny finish of Shimmer shades and Creaminess of the matte ones.
- Stays on for a looooong time. Has to be removed with a proper makeup remover or baby oil.
- Superb Pigmentation. Shows more with continued usage.
- Available on discounts mostly. Even without discount, it is worth your bucks.
Cons of Makeup Revolution Salvation Palette in What You Waiting For:
- Fallouts in case of a few shimmer shades. So when you pack it in, keep it inside the cardboard box that comes with it.
- Parabens might be a con for some.
- Limited availability. Though there are certain online portals in India that sell it, and the official Makeup Revolution London website too delivers to India.
Buy this palette for some of the most gorgeous nude shades that you might find for daily use. The mattes are specially my recommendation.
Would I recommend Makeup Revolution Salvation Palette in What You Waiting For?
Yes! Absolutely. This is one underrated brand which has arrived with a bang! Go grab it till the sellers are offering discounts. Stock it up. You will not be disappointed. 😀 😀
