Today’s review will be on a product that I’ve been eyeing for a long time now. I finally got the chance to grab it. Let’s see how this baby worked for me.

My Experience with Makeup Revolution Ultra All Day Prime and Anti-Shine Balm:
This little cutie comes in a black cardboard box. This is such a classy looking packaging and it looks kind of high end too. I love the black and gold combination. The balm comes in a compact packaging. There’s a very nice quality mirror provided too. A white sponge applicator is also provided. There’s a plastic film to protect the balm, and it is really annoying because it is difficult to remove it. I ended up denting the perfect layer of the anti-shine balm in my quest to remove the plastic film 😛 Overall, I really like the packaging. The little compact is travel friendly.
The balm is milky white in colour, but when you blend, it becomes transparent. The texture is really nice and very soft. It becomes even softer when you apply it to your skin. It is very lightweight. You really don’t feel anything after you apply it unless you layer it on. It isn’t sticky but you can feel it when you touch the area you have applied the balm. It gets blended in very quickly. Two-three dabs and you’re done!
I prefer using my fingers to apply this balm because I only use it on my T-zone. I find it faster and much effective that way. I don’t like using the sponge every time. It claims to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, which it doesn’t. It just makes them a little less visible. It doesn’t really diffuse imperfections completely. You can see about 40-50% difference. It does mattify my face pretty well. I have observed that after using this, my face doesn’t feel that much oily after I step out in the sun.
Also, base product on top of it goes on very smoothly than when applied without this primer. It doesn’t necessarily extend the wear of my base product, but the application becomes smoother. It doesn’t cover up my pores or fill them up, which is what I wanted. It just looks softer, it kind of blurs them a little.
The staying power is about 4 hours, you really can’t tell because by that time my makeup has already set, so anyway, it looks softer than when applied freshly, but when used alone on bare face, it lasts upto 4-5 hours. If you have oily skin, then maybe you’ll have to touch up after 3 hours, but I don’t think it can replace my powder compact as it says. If it left behind a finish that compact gives, maybe I would, but this doesn’t leave a powdery feel to my skin, so I wouldn’t replace it.

- Just a little goes a long way.
Cons of Makeup Revolution Ultra All Day Prime and Anti-Shine Balm:
- Doesn’t give completely diffused look.
- Works only 40-50%in covering imperfections.
- Doesn’t cover up or fill the pores.
- You can feel the product when you touch it.
- Can’t replace my powder compact.
- Low staying power.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Makeup Revolution Ultra All Day Prime and Anti-Shine Balm?
I wouldn’t because I get the same results when I use my Lotus mattifying sunscreen which costs exactly quarter of the price of this anti-shine balm.
