Here’s my review of the 3 more Marc Jacobs Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayons. You may check swatches of these eyeliners from my collection HERE and reviews of some more shades HERE.

My Experience with Marc Jacobs Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayon (Pop)ular 49, Fine (wine) 47, Whirl(pool) 51:
The 3 shades that I am reviewing in this post are:
(Pop)ular 49: A beautiful warm pink. If you have never tried a pink eyeliner, I think you should. And I love that this is not the kind of pink eyeliner that is like a sweet cool toned pink. It has a little warmth to it that prevents from making your eyes look irritated or sorts. IMHO, it can totally be doubled up as a lip liner. I like this shade because it’s not very often that you come across such a pretty pink liner in most brands, makes it a unique addition.
Some dupes would be L.A. Girl U.S.A. Eyeliner Pencil in GP623 Pretty N Pink
and Maybelline Eyestudio Vivid and Smooth Liner Pink Pearl.
Fine (wine) 47: A deep burgundy red. Most people don’t really use a red or a wine coloured eyeliner. I get that but it can be such a good replacement for your brown liners. A burgundy liner is a lovely shade of brown with a hint of red. It would make your eyes pop, especially if you have green eyes. Give it a go! 🙂 I did a look around the liner HERE.
Some dupes would be: Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes 18 L Burgundy, Illamasqua Precision Ink Eyeliner Havoc, and MAC Dark Diversion Fluidline.
Whirl(pool) 51: A sea green color. I adore this eyeliner. It’s so much fun. It’s neither too pale nor too bright. And you can add that little pop with this one just on the inner corner of your eye. 🙂 Could not really find a dupe for this one. If you know it, please mention in the comments below. 🙂
A quick look at pros and cons:
1. Are retractable pencils but they come with a lovely little sharpener at the end that helps you get a sharper tip.
2. Comes in gorgeous fun colors. You can mix and match and have fun. Some of the colors are really unique in the collection.
3. Are smooth and glide on the eyes like a dream but are not so smooth that they tend to break at the teeniest pressure.
4. Super duper pigmented. One swipe and you get a full on color.
5. Do not smudge or smear. And if you have hooded eyes like mine, don’t worry once the liner sets in good 10 seconds, the liner does not transfer on your brow bone.
6. The staying power is incredible both on waterline and upper lash line. They stayed on my waterline for good 7 hours and I wore the liners on lash line for around 8 hours and they are just the way they were when I had applied them in morning. Real champions.
7. Never irritated my eyes.
8. You need a good oil based makeup remover to remove them.
9. The centres of the liners are coloured so makes it easier to locate. Love the matte silver packaging.
Overall, these matte liners have impressed me as much as the shimmery ones. These are definitely one of the top class liners I have in my collection. Fun colors, right texture, excellent staying power and super pigmented. Highly recommended.
