I love using eye shadow crayons as they are so handy. My today’s pick is an eye shadow crayon by Be A Bombshell in the shade ’High Roller’. I have tried Be A Bombshell eye shadow palettes and they are quite nice, but this crayon could not satisfy my expectations. Read on for more details.
INR 1200 for 1.5g
My Experience with Be A Bombshell High Roller Eye Crayon:
The eyeshadow crayon comes in a black cardboard box with all the details. The actual crayon comes in a black colored jumbo pencil with a clear cap. The cap is not tight enough and there is a risk factor with the cap, otherwise the crayon is easy to carry around. I really like the fact that the pencil needn’t be sharpened as it’s a twist-up pencil.
This eyeshadow crayon comes in 10 different shades. I have the shade ‘High Roller’ with me today. It is a beautiful olive green shade with fine golden shimmers. The shimmer doesn’t look OTT and this shade is very unique and wearable too. It looks nice on my tanned skin. But the shade has very low pigmentation so it can’t show up on darker skin tone. A lot of swipes are required for the perfect color to show up. It is really hard to build up the color on the lids.
This crayon has a super smooth and creamy texture that glides on my lids without any tugging. It blends easily with fingers. But, if I blend it with a brush, the color moves to the brush and looks too sheer on the lids. So it is better to apply the color directly on the lids and then to just blend it a little with fingers. The formula feels light on my eyelids but I am totally disappointed with the quality. It is extremely creamy and greasy in texture, so it’s too tough to build the color up.
The eyeshadow moves from my lid so easily and then it looks messy. It smudges crazily and transfers all over my lids. It makes my oily eyelids more oily. It settles into the fine lines and creases easily. I can only apply it on my lids as a liner. I cannot apply this on my crease or on other areas as an eyeshadow. This eye crayon works ok when I use it as a base color and then apply some powder shadow over it to set the color. But, on its own, it does not survive on oily eyelids.
It can’t stay for long on my lids. Without a primer, it stays hardly for 1-2 hours. But, after that, it starts to crease and move. On a hot summer day, it starts to fade within an hour. With a good eye primer, it can stay on for more hours. It actually feels very greasy on my lids. I don’t like it at all!
This product is a big disappointment and it can’t do anything. Since it’s priced at 1200 rupees, I find it very overpriced. I have so many better options. The shade looks really pretty if I don’t blend it, though.
