The Good about Marks and Spencer Shea Lip Butter:

  • It keeps my lips soft and moisturised. Consistent use does improve the appearance of lips and evens out the skin.
  • The consistency is not too thick and this what I really like about the Shea lip butter. It applies smoothly on my lips without tugging. Its almost as if it adjusts to my body/lip temperature and sort of melts into my lips.
  • It can be easily layered over all lipsticks as a top coat. No matter how much of this you have swiped on your lips, you would never run the danger of imparting too much shine to your lips. Vaseline, for instance, makes my lips a wee bit too shiny โ˜น
  • Unlike some lip butters, this feels extremely weightless on my lips so much so that I forget if I have applied anyting at all !
  • Slightly sweet and somewhat waxy in taste but neither too unpleasant
  • Absolutely divine fragrance. I like its cocoa-chocolate-shea smell even better than the Cocoa and Shea products manufactured by The Body Shop. This coming from a Body Shop loyalist should sure enough make headlines ๐Ÿ™‚

The Bad about Marks and Spencer Shea Lip Butter:

  • Availability is limited to only select Marks and Spencer outlets.
  • Being a potted product it does come with its own set of complications like dirty fingers, microbes etc.
  • I purchased it in the winters but I do feel that it may turn gooey and melt a bit if left exposed outside the refrigerator in the summers. Both storage and usage, therefore, might pose a problem depending upon the prevalent weather condition.

Verdict: A good buy for dry and chapped lips.
