I know, I know that Halloween is over and so is pumpkin season, but pumpkin pies sounded cute, 😛 and also the product I am going to review today is a part of Fall 2014 launch. 😀 As you all know that currently I am on a lip balm hoarding trip, so here is another one I picked up recently. The Maybelline Baby lips Crystal Collection is officially the Fall 2014 line and is available now at drugstores and retailers all over. So let us straight go to the review.

Packaging:

The packaging is similar to original baby lips with a pink colored cylindrical tube and transparent cap with color coded Maybelline Baby Lips written over it. The shimmery cap makes it cuter than the previous versions.

My Take on Maybelline Baby Lips Crystal Kiss Lip Balm:

Maybelline Baby Lips Crystal is a color collection which is available in 6 shades: Crystal Kiss, Gleaming Coral, Pink Quartz, Beam of Blush, Mirrored Mauve and Twinkling Taupe. Each shade has a hint of sheer color and a gorgeous shimmery, pearlescent look. I love pretty much all the products in the Baby Lips line, so when I saw these, I was sooooo excited.  The shades are similar to others launched in the past, the only difference being the shimmery texture.

In the tube, the shade “Crystal Kiss” looks like a baby pink shade but it is a clear lip balm with only a hint of shimmer in it. There is no color to this particular variant and it only provides you the baby lip moisture with the shimmery texture. Crystal Kiss is a sheer wash of soft glitter. The shimmer is very fine and not gritty. Also, I did not find the shimmer overpowering at all.

It gives a very subtle, pearly shimmer with the regular shine. Since there is no hint of color in it, you can easily apply it on top of your lipsticks without altering the original shade. It has a lovely fruity, citrusy smell, but does not have any taste. There is no mention of any SPF value on the packaging, but Maybelline says it has SPF 20. It provides hydration for a couple of hours after which a reapplication is needed, so the 8-hour claim is not true.

Pros of Maybelline Baby Lips Crystal Kiss Lip Balm:

• SPF 20.
• Lovely fruity smell.
• Moisturizes lips for around 4 hours.
• Leaves a pretty glittery shine on the lips.
• Formula is great and creamy.
• Glitter is not over the top.
• The shimmer particles does not travel to your face after the lip balm wears off.
• Since it does not have any color, it can easily be applied on top of your favorite lipstick.

Cons of Maybelline Baby Lips Crystal Kiss Lip Balm:

• 8-hour claim not true.
