Today, I am back with yet another Maybelline Baby Lips lip balm in the Crystal collection. The particular shade I will be reviewing today is called “Gleaming Coral.” I am totally obsessing over these baby lips though I should mention the “Crystal” collection is hardly any different than the regular Baby Lips out there, but I guess it is the hype that just got me in to purchasing it. Read on to see how I liked this one.
My Experience with Maybelline Baby Lips Crystal Lip Balm in Gleaming Coral:
This Baby Lips comes in the same packaging style as the other Baby Lips except the “Crystal” collection packaging is a bit more glittery and pink. I truly think the packaging is what had me buying it without even thinking twice about the shade because this is a bit similar to the Baby Lips that I reviewed a few days ago called “Crystal Kiss.” The name of this shade is “Gleaming Coral,” but I really do not think the shade is actually a true coral, but actually a light baby pink. Unlike the shade “Crystal Kiss,” the baby pink color actually shows up and it is not sheer. The color is really pretty and it gives a perfect amount of pink to the lips. It is perfect for everyday use. It has tiny amounts of glitter in it which you can barely see unless in bright sunlight.
The whole Crystal collection is about glitter and sparkle, but to be honest, you can only slightly see any sparkle or shine. It just seems like another variant in the Baby Lips collection and nothing special about creating a whole new collection line for it. Anyway, the formula is of very good consistency. It’s not too thick or thin, just like “Crystal Kiss.” I must say Maybelline has made their formula better in the new Crystal range. It is very moisturizing and I love the texture. It leaves my lips smooth without over drying. The scent of it is quite similar to a few other Baby Lips I have tried, this one is not my favorite scent. It has a citrusy odd scent which is hard to explain, but the good part is that it is not noticeable once applied on the lips. As far as the staying power goes, it is not the greatest, but then again I did not expect it to be since the others aren’t. So it does not bother me and nor does it stop me from using it. I keep this particular shade in my purse and apply it throughout the day.
Pros of Maybelline Baby Lips Crystal Lip Balm in Gleaming Coral:
- It has cute packaging.
- Leaves a pretty natural pink tint to the lips.
- It is perfect for everyday use.
- Has a perfect consistency.
- Does not over dry my lips.
- Lips stay moisturized as long as I have the product on.
Cons of Maybelline Baby Lips Crystal Lip Balm in Gleaming Coral:
- It is not very long lasting.
- It has an odd scent which I do not like.
Would I Repurchase Maybelline Baby Lips Crystal Lip Balm in Gleaming Coral?
I would like to repurchase this, but I do not think I would need to for a very long time since I have so many to use up. Though it is only obvious that I will always be buying new Baby Lips to add to my collection, it has been a sort of a necessity now. So in conclusion, I recommend you try out these lip balms because they are so darn cute, how could you not. I am trying to also buy the other shades in the collection, but unfortunately, every time I go to buy new shades, they are always sold out. I guess everybody loves baby lips like I do.
