As much as I am loving trials of new lip colors and stains these days, prepping the lips and keeping them moisturized is equally necessary. Also, the weather is making my dry lips even drier. So while looking out for lip balms, I found our beloved Maybelline lip balm, guess what, in the shade Grape Vine. 😛
I found out a Wine/Berry shade here as well. 😉 😛

My Take On Maybelline Baby Lips-Grape Vine:
In the bullet, the color looks really intimidating. Who would want dark purple color on their lips. 😛 But then since it is a lip balm, it has to be sheer. It gives a very light sheen of color with all the benefits of lip balm and ease of use.
The formula is great and creamy. It leaves my lips soft and moisturized. However, it may feel greasy if layered too much. It leaves a very slight berry-purplish tint, which is not much visible on my pigmented lips. But I do not mind that. 🙂
Though it is not mentioned anywhere on the packaging, but Maybelline says that these lip balms contain SPF so that is an added advantage.
Maybelline Baby Lips-Grape Vine has a lovely grape candy like smell to it which I love. It does not have any taste to it. Also, it does not have any healing or repairing properties (as it says in its claims) but it will just moisturize your lips. So if you are looking for something to heal your chapped lips, this is not for you.
Even the continuous usage will not give you visibly renewed lips as Maybelline says. The 8 hr moisture claim too is a bit exaggerated. I feel the need to reapply it every couple of hours. Well, thats the case with almost all lip balms so no qualms about it. 🙂
Pros of Maybelline Baby Lips-Grape Vine:
- SPF 20
- Lovely grape candy smell
- Moisturizes lips for around 4 hours
- Leaves a pretty tint on lips
- Formula is great and creamy
Cons of Maybelline Baby Lips-Grape Vine:
- 8 hr claim not true
- May feel greasy if layered too much
IMBB Rating: 4.5/ 5.
