When I searched IMBB to verify whether this shade has been up already, I was surprised to not find such a gorgeous shade :woot: If I were to pick up one Maybelline lipstick out of the many I have (just two from Colorsensational), especially the “Moisture Extreme” range that I luuuurrrrrrvvvvvv, I would say “Chestnut” would top it all; take away 10 of my lipsticks and give me “Chestnut” any day. I am head over heels in love with this one ( :struggle: do I say that about many lipsticks?). I have no word to pinpoint what exactly I love about this lipstick, but the whole package makes me drool. I am in love with the texture, the shade, moisture, everything as such.
My relationship with “Maybelline Moisture Extremes” was love on the rebound after the color changed totally :huh: and since then we have been steady. I have most or all of the nudes from this range, couple of pinks and mauves and some dusky ones, but overall, they have made so many shades to my liking that they will be used up before others.
This shade “Chestnut” is a gorgeous one with a mix of coral pink and brown, a little carroty I would say :P, but the lipstick as a whole is mind blowing and it really blew me off. The shade is super pigmented and I just need one swipe for day wear. The texture is soft and smooth and so moisturising and I would say the finish is a little glossy, not matte, not crème, but absolutely to my liking. The finish in one word I would say is “luscious.”
The more I sing in praise of this shade, the less it is. It is an absolute must-have for our Indian skin tones. I think most warm skin tones would rock it. Brown, corals, pink and even mauve lovers will fall flat for this one. If you don’t have “Moisture Extremes” or say you are warming up towards them, this one should be your first buy.
Since it is super luscious in texture, I would say that chances are there that it can bleed a little, be careful while applying it. Then, it is also soft enough to transfer on cups etc., and may be melt away too and then there is the “fungus scare.” Staying power is never a problem with me (except NYX round lipsticks), but I would say it is decent enough for me.
