My Thoughts on Maybelline Creamy Beige Color Tattoo 24 Hr Eyeshadow:

I had been using the Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo (the original) in Bad to the Bronze for longer than a year and I really quite like it. It works well as a base for eyeshadows and even when worn on its own. But Bad to the Bronze is quite shimmery and on the cooler side. I was hopeful that Maybelline would come out with something in the same formula, but in a more neutral, matte/satin shade. And that’s exactly what they have done with the Color Tattoo leathers! These cream eyeshadows are available in 5 beautiful shades that are very versatile.

Creamy Beige is a neutral brown shade with a satin finish (not completely matte, but no visible shimmer as such). It comes in a glass jar packaging (like the original Maybelline Color Tattoo and the MAC Paint Pot). This shade is an excellent one as it could work as a base for almost any eyeshadow, especially for neutral/natural shades. It can also be worn all over the lid as a neutral brown shade. On my NC 40-42 skin tone, this colour does not show up very much, but it certainly evens out my eyelids. Of course, it can always be deepened across the crease for more definition.

I have been using this color tattoo leather for over a week now and I find myself reaching for it quite regularly. It is such an easy-to-wear, no fuss shade that just makes the eyes look so much more beautiful in a matter of seconds. As far as the finish/texture of this is concerned, it is certainly chalkier than the original color tattoos. I think that’s how it has the “leather” finish.  I find it easiest to apply with my fingertip as that helps smooth out the product across the lids. You could also use a brush. The staying power of this eyeshadow is very impressive. Of course, I haven’t worn it for as long as 24 hours to check whether or not this claim is true, but it has lasted on me for 12 hours and that too without creasing!

Overall, I really like this product and, for its price, it is a must-have, especially if you like easy-to-use, neutral brown cream eyeshadows!
