Maybelline Glam 4 Lip Polish Review

I’m back with another review and this one too is from Maybelline. Initially, I wasn’t too fond of this lip polish as I tend to stay away from bronzy – brown lip colors. But, after three months, I have finally found a way in which I can use this, so it’s not just lying around in my vanity anymore. So, let’s get into the review!

My Experience with Maybelline Glam 4 Lip Polish:

Packaging: When I had seen the pictures of it on Maybelline’s instagram page, I was drooling over the bottle because it looks so cute. It’s a lip gloss that is shaped like a lipstick bullet. The cap is silver and the body is transparent, so you can easily spot it in your collection. The ingredients, price, manufacturing and expiry date along with other information is printed on a plastic outer cover which needs to be removed to open the product.

The gloss does not leak, hence it is travel friendly. The brush is a leaf shaped applicator which is slightly curved to pick up maximum product, but I’m not a fan of the brush. I prefer the usual doe foot applicators as the curve makes the application a little tricky for me when I’m in a hurry.

Colour, Texture, Pigmentation: Colour, as I mentioned earlier, is a nude bronzy brown which has tiny flecks of shimmer in it. The shimmer is not too in your face or gritty, but it gives it a slightly frosty look if you layer it up. Honestly, the glitter was the second thing that put me off this lip polish after the colour. I can’t stand even the slightest bit of shimmer on my lips.

The texture is very smooth, soft and moisturizing. It’s not sticky nor does it feel heavy on the lips. But, it does streak so one needs to smooth it over with fingers. They are bang on about claim no. 2 and 3 – it is extremely moisturizing and it does make my lips look fuller. The pigmentation, I’d say, is average. Since this colour is already a nude shade and it barely shows up on my lips, if worn on it’s own it looks like a frosty clear gloss with shimmer. I usually apply this on top of my extremely bright lipsticks to tone down the colour and it gives me the perfect, glossy, full lip effect.

Staying Power: The staying power, again, is average. Since it’s a lip gloss, it is definitely going to transfer which is why it doesn’t last more than 2-3 hours on me as I tend to eat, drink and lick my lips very frequently. If I apply it on top of my matte lipsticks, it takes away their wear time too. Despite that it keeps my lips moisturized for 4-5 hours.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Maybelline Glam 4 Lip Polish?
I may purchase other shades from this range, but definitely not this one. I do recommend these lip polishes as they are so smooth and moisturizing. There are many other shades available, but if you are into bronzy and nude lip glosses, you can buy this one.
