I’ve always read positive reviews of Maybelline fit me foundation and other pressed powders from the Maybelline Fit me range. This is my first product from their range. I have tried multiple drug store compacts and pressed powders. With my experience, I can say wet and wild coverall pressed powder, cover girl compact powder and L’Oreal matte magique worked best for me. I always kept getting them back if I’m done with the product. However, this was my first try with Maybelline fit me matte + poreless powder and let’s see how this worked for me.

My Experience With Maybelline New York Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder:
Packaging: The packaging of this product is decent. The compact case is made up of black plastic material that is quite sturdy. You have all the necessary details and the ingredient list at the back of the case. The compact lid locks and unlocks properly. You have the shade code labelled on a black sticker in the front of the case. This helps us in picking up the right compact according to our skin tone without having to look or search for the shade name and code. I got a white sponge attached to this in a separate plastic sealed cover. If this had an inbuilt section for sponge separately and a mirror, it would have been my perfect travel companion. But I usually skip this one while travelling, as I need to carry a sponge and mirror along. The packaging of this product is a little different in gulf countries compared to the other countries. I could only see a round shaped compact from the fit me range where as in other countries it has been packed in a square shaped compact case.
Texture, Pigmentation and Coverage: The texture is very smooth and this makes your skin smooth. You surely can notice a difference after applying the product. It makes your skin smooth and softer. It is quite a pigmented powder with medium coverage.
How it functions: since the texture is smooth, it is easy to blend and moreover it makes your skin smooth. I was able to make out a huge difference after applying the powder. It evens the skin tone well making it look bright and even. I wish the coverage of powder was full and not medium. Since this provides medium coverage, I would skip using it on special occasions or while doing my party makeup. This would be perfect for daily use if you wish to carry a natural makeup look. Since it provides a pretty matte effect, this is meant for people with normal to oily skin tones. It does lives up to its claim of providing a poreless skin and a perfect matte look. However, people with dry skin should skip this one, as this isn’t meant for them. If you still desire to have this in your vanity for a perfect matte look, despite your skin being dry, moisturizing and hydrating your skin well before application can be an option. May be this will help!
Shade: There are lot of options and shades to choose from the fit me powder range. You can choose a perfect one for yourself depending on your skin complexion. I have fair complexion and I choose the shade “115 ivory”. This shade gives me a very natural look to my skin. I am glad it doesn’t look cakey but I still wish to opt a lighter shade of powder to see how that would fare next time.
Staying power: The staying power is great too. Although I haven’t taken the 16-hour stay test yet I can say it lasts longer for more than 8 hours. I once applied this compact in the morning for my day makeup look and removed my makeup after 8 hours and it still looked the same. Neither did this fade nor did this smear. I am sure it stays more than 8 hours and that’s more than enough for me. And who wears makeup for 16 hours?
