Skin Tone: Medium Tanned

Hello beauties!

Maybelline India has launched a lovely eyeshadow range called The Tone on Tone Nudes Eyeshadow with four beautiful shades. This is basically a stick shadow with dual tones. Today, I am talking about the shade ‘Cherry on Cake’. Now, let’s get into the details.

Price: INR 450
Product Description:
Tone on Tone Dual Eyeshadow Stick by Maybelline is a first-of-its-kind two-toned eyeshadow bar that creates the hottest eye makeup look in one simple swipe. Its two complementary creamy hues melt onto the lids easily and add distinct definition to the eyes. The two shades, dark and light, can be used along the lash line as well as the mobile lid or inner corner of the eye. A great option for those who are constantly on-the-go and looking for quick, fuss-free application.

My Experience with Maybelline The Tone on Tone Nudes Eyeshadow Cherry on Cake:

Packaging:
The Tone on Tone Nudes Eyeshadow comes in a beautiful sleek black tube with a clear cap. It’s a nice square shaped retractable tube that does not need to be sharpened. Also, it is a mess-free product. I can identify the shade due to its clear cap, but since the bullet doesn’t go inside completely, I have to close the cap very carefully to avoid any damage. Otherwise, it’s a nice, travel-friendly and affordable product that lasts long as well.

Shade:
This range offers four beautiful shades for all skin tones and each shade has a dual tone that can give a nice ombre look. The shade ‘Cherry on Cake’ has two shades from the peach family. One side has a beautiful peach shade while the other one has a warm light pink shade. Both the shades give a beautiful peachy shimmery shine to the eyes. This is my favorite shade from the range.

These two shades are perfect for creating a natural everyday look with a hint of glam and shine on the eyes. If you apply it properly, the deeper shade goes over the lower lid area and the lighter shade brightens up the upper eyelid. You can apply them in the reverse order as well. This one stick is enough to create a beautiful look. The shade is well pigmented and requires a few strokes to get the color on the lid.

Texture and Quality:
This stick has a soft smooth texture that glides effortlessly on the eyes without any tugging. The creamy formula blends smoothly and evenly with an occupied texture. I can even blend the shadow with my finger and it works well with a brush too. It takes only a few seconds to get the perfect look. Due to its square shape, it’s quite difficult to apply the shadow on a small area, like on the inner corners.

It can’t reach the corners easily and I have to use the pointed side. With a single side, I still can apply it on the lower lash line. Otherwise, the formula is nice and lightweight. Also, it’s a non-sticky, non-patchy cream shadow. Somehow, I can’t build up the pigmentation easily as the shade looks natural, but I can build up the shine and shimmery effect. The shadow carries beautiful shimmers that give a natural pearly finish.

They never look overpowering at all. Such subtle, finely milled shimmer particles are perfect for any occasion. The product sets to a soft creamy formula that can smudge if I touch my eyes but it doesn’t smudge automatically. The shadow doesn’t crease that much; if I use it on the top of a powder base then it creases slightly by the end of the day. Otherwise, it survives well without creating any mess.

Staying Power:
Now, as a cream shadow, it stays well – for around 5-6 hours. But after that, it starts to look faded. It behaves well on my oily lids and shimmers never spread either. Still, due to the very hot weather, it looks messy after a long time. It’s better to use a silicon base or a matte primer underneath the formula. It can be easily removed with a wipe.

Overall:
I love the formula and the natural finish on the eyes. This is perfect for beginners and this shade is so beautiful. If you love natural makeup but still want a shimmery finish then this shadow stick would be a great option for you. This is totally a worth buy for the price you pay.
