Murad Essential-C Cleanser Review

Murad is one brand that I look up to when I want to splurge on skin care and get great results. Recently, I picked up 4 cleansers from them – Clarifying Cleanser, Essential c cleanser, Refreshing cleanser, AHA/BHA exfoliating cleanser. I know I should not have bought all of them, but I get bored of cleansers quite soon and prefer using different cleansers instead of just one. The one I will be reviewing today is the “Essential C Cleanser.”

Product Description:
A patented antioxidant-rich cleanser that rehydrates environmentally damaged skin.

What it is formulated to do:
Essential-C Cleanser’s patented antioxidant-rich formula removes environmental impurities, rehydrates, and awakens the senses with a burst of citrus. Phospholipids and sodium PCA attract and bind moisture to dry skin, while a combination of vitamins A, C, and E defend skin from free radical damage. Allantoin and panthenol work to soothe environmentally stressed skin. Essential-C Cleanser is recommended as a step one cleanser in any Murad Environmental Shield® regimen. It is formulated to cleanse and rehydrate skin as part of Dr. Murad’s Inclusive Health® system of care.

Murad Essential-C Cleanser Review

My Experience with Murad Essential-C Cleanser:

Murad clarifying cleanser comes housed in a transparent squeez-y tube. The name of the brand and product name are printed on the front of the tube and the rest of the details are printed at the back of the tube.

Murad Essential-C Cleanser packaging

Out of the 4 cleansers that I picked up from Murad, this is the most-used one and honestly, there is nothing to brag about, this did clean up quite the normal way.

Murad Essential-C Cleanser ingredients

The consistency of this cleanser is gel like, which lathers up quite well. This cleanser claims to add hydration, but instead, it makes my skin dry and I have to follow up with a good moisturizer to add lots of hydration so that my skin feels normal.

I prefer double cleansing mechanism – I use Murad cleanser first and then Emma Hardie moringa cleansing balm. There is kind of a “vitamin C” scent to the cleanser and it lingers on even after you rinse off your face. This way, my skin looks refreshed and awake. You need a very less quantity of Murad clarifying cleanser each time and since it does not irritate or cause redness, it makes it perfect for people with sensitive skin.

Pros of Murad Essential-C Cleanser:

  • Adds radiance to skin.
  • Skin feels fresh and awake.
  • Fit for sensitive skin.
  • Vitamin C scent.
  • Feels cooling on the skin.
  • Less is needed each time.

Cons of Murad Essential-C Cleanser:

  • Expensive.
  • Makes skin dry.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Murad Essential-C Cleanser?
Yes.
