My take on Nivea Firming Body Lotion Q10 Plus:
This lotion comes in a flip-top bottle. It’s a big 250-ml bottle, and I don’t know why I have never seen a Nivea lotion in a smaller size; it would be much easier to carry right?
The consistency is thick but you don’t have to rub for hours as it absorbs easily (I am not Vaseline lotion fan; for me it takes too long!). On application, it gives this cool sensation (not minty menthol cool, but a little wake-me-up kind of feel). I have also noticed that after a few minutes of application, it starts giving this slight tingly feel. Or maybe it has got something to do with my skin! Whenever I apply it, my crumpled skin looks smoothened out immediately. There is no oily-greasy feeling; I feel this lotion is light but at the same time moisturising.
Although winters are almost over, I would still state that this is not meant for winter-flaky skin. I bought this body lotion on my sister’s recommendation last month (she uses this along with the Q10 oil). At that time, it didn’t give my skin enough moisture, so kept it on hold. I started using this again this month and I am quite happy.
Now about the toning and firming part, I don’t know whether such products really work. But this lotion lists some really good ingredients most importantly Q10 or coenzyme Q10. And I have heard such amazing things about Q10/ubiquinone! Such a star thing it is that it is called a skinsaver. It protects skin against photoaging, stimulates collagen production, reenergizes the cells, and what not! The other active ingredients, Creatine (an organic acid) and L-Carnitine (sometimes also called the fatburner as it supports fat-to-energy transfer), also help in the cell renewal process.
My skin looks healthier, but I wouldn’t say it is firmer, or I may I am not able to notice the change, if there is any.
The fragrance is very refreshing, an instant mood-lifter. And that’s why I prefer it more now when it is getting warmer. I know it is going to be my summer hand/body lotion, if I am not tempted by something else!
