Today, I am reviewing a produt from a brand that is new to me. This is the Nuance Skincare and Cosmetics range which was launched by Salma Hayek a few years ago and the product that I am reviewing today is the “Meadowfoam Seed Leave-In Treatment.” Read on to find out more about this product.
Meadowfoam Seed Extract rescues damaged hair, preventing breakage, controlling frizz, and sealing in moisture. Natural Fruit Extracts condition, nurture, and fortify hair. Color-Lock Technology with UVB absorber prevents sun damage, protects against heat styling, and preserves hair’s strength and color. No harsh sulfates, no parabens, no animal testing. Distribute evenly through towel-dried hair, giving special attention to split ends. Do not rinse. Style as desired.
My Experience with Nuance Salma Hayek Meadowfoam Seed Leave-In Treatment:
Packaging: The product comes in a simple cream-colored squeezable tube packaging with a flip top cap. The cap shuts tightly and there is no danger of any product leakage. The packaging is sleek and quite travel friendly.
Texture/Fragrance/Results: The first thing that you would notice about this product is the amazing fragrance. Though I cannot place the fragrance, it feels wonderful and continues to linger in the hair for a long time after application.
The product has a creamy texture; it is not too thick and spreads pretty easily through the hair. I apply a little dollop of the cream to towel-dried damp hair and then allow my hair to air dry or user a hair dryer. The cream is quite lightweight and does not weigh down the hair or make it greasy.
This product is touted as a leave-in treatment to rescue damaged hair, prevent breakage, control frizz, seal moisture, prevent sun damage, protect against heat treatment and condition hair. Now, when a product promises so much, you know that you need to take it with a pinch of salt. So, I was prepared to not expect too much when I started using this product and here are my observations:
- The cream does condition the hair well and moisturizes it and makes it tangle-free.
- It does not do a good job of controlling frizz and my hair continues to be frizzy.
- It is difficult to gauge whether the cream protects from sun or heat damage, but in the time that I used it, I continued to use my flat iron and hair dryer and did not notice any adverse effects of heat.
- I did not notice any special protection from hair breakage and I continued to lose hair as I usually do after a shampoo routine.
So, to summarize, I would say this is a product with a wonderful fragrance which conditions the hair well and can be used as a heat protectant, but all the other claims are not totally true.
Pros of Nuance Salma Hayek Meadowfoam Seed Leave-In Treatment:
- Amazing fragrance.
- Does not weigh the hair down.
- Conditions the hair well.
- Protects against damage due to heat.
- Travel-friendly packaging.
Cons of Nuance Salma Hayek Meadowfoam Seed Leave-In Treatment:
- Does not control frizz.
- No special protection from hair breakage.
