NYC #820 Bowery Matte Berry Expert Last Matte Lip Lacquer Review

Hello IMBBians,

Lip colour plays a role to keep our pout gorgeous. I recently went on a spree with lip products, and today’s review is about NYC #820 Bowery Matte Berry Expert Last Matte Lip Lacquer.

Product Description:
• Velvet matte finish.
• Comfort of a gloss and the colour impact of a matte lipstick.
• Full coverage; long wearing.
• Moisturizing.
• Non-sticky.
• High-impact, explosive colour.

My Experience with NYC #820 Bowery Matte Berry Expert Last Matte Lip Lacquer:

I have started to love matte lipsticks and I recently picked up a few shades from NYC and Catrice. I didn’t want to buy expensive ones, and thus picked up these budget ones. The lip lacquer comes sealed and in a plastic bottle. The bright silver font on the bottle can come off with time and the black cap holds the applicator. The applicator is long and is similar to other lip glosses.

The shades in this range are limited and there are only 4 available. I picked up #810 Riverdale Matte Red and #820 Bowery Matte Berry. The application is easy with the long wand. The applicator makes it easy to create precise lines on the lips. The lip lacquer smells very fruity, like strawberry, and the fragrance is very artificial.

The shade is magenta and it’s a beautiful colour. I have been in love with Lakme Magenta Magic and this is the exact dupe of the product except that it has a slightly glossy finish. The texture is smooth and soft and easy to glide on the lips. It is neither heavy nor runny and the consistency is perfect. The lip lacquer feels a bit sticky when applied but the stickiness disappears soon. The product is not 100% matte and it creates a light glossy effect on the lips.

The colour is deeply pigmented and just one swipe is enough to cover the lips. It takes almost 30 minutes to dry and till then it can be messy. The colour is opaque and bold and thus it does cover dark lips. The lip lacquer has to be applied to well-moisturised lips else it can settle amongst the dryness of the lips, which can be a pretty bad sight. The product stays for a long time on lips, i.e. for almost 4-5 hours.

The colour doesn’t stain but it fades from the centre and then from the sides. The product doesn’t transfer once dried and doesn’t bleed. The product isn’t very moisturising either and doesn’t do anything to hydrate the lips. This product offers just color, no moisture. Overall, the colour is great and I love the fact that it stays on for long even though there might be a need for reapplication.

So, summing up:

Would I Recommend NYC #820 Bowery Matte Berry Expert Last Matte Lip Lacquer?
It is a good product but I like the Matte Red better. This is a good shade but other than this there is nothing great about this product.
