My Experience with NYX Dark Cloud Whipped Lip and Cheek Souffle:

The soufflé comes in a small and sturdy plastic bottle. The packaging has the description and ingredients list mentioned on it. This small bottle has a large screw-on type cap with an applicator. The applicator is soft and quite different the typical doe-foot applicators that we see in lip glosses. The wand is small but I find it quite fit to apply it on the lips and cheeks. The color-coded body makes this soufflé easy to spot in makeup stash. Overall, the packaging is nice and travel friendly.

The shade “Dark Cloud” is a bright plum shade. Though most shades in this range is free of any shimmer, this variant has micro shimmers in it. You may notice the shimmers in the hand swatch below, but these are not visible really on the lips. These shimmers just add luminescence to the lips. The shade is bright, which will suit almost all Indian skin tones nicely. It looks different on different skin tones. Though the shade is pretty, I do not use such shades on a daily basis.

The formula is amazingly pigmented. One swipe of the soufflé gives rich color to the lips, but it comes streaky initially. So, I need a second swipe to even out the finish. The color gets more intense with the second swipe and hides pigmented lips pretty well. This is a dual-purpose product that can be used on the lips and cheeks. It is insanely pigmented, so when you apply it on the cheeks, you have to do so carefully, otherwise you may end up with clown cheeks. Just two dots are good enough to impart perfect color to the cheeks. The soufflé has a funny candy-like fragrance, which might bother sensitive noses.

I have totally fallen in love with the texture of this soufflé. It’s lightweight and feels like whipped cream. It spreads very easily on the lips, so definitely there is no tugging or pulling of the lips. The soufflé has a soft and smooth formula. It feels ultra comfortable and does not feel any sticky or heavy on the lips. The soufflé has a nice texture but still it clings to the dry patches of lips. It will not forgive even a little bit of dryness. Hence prepping the lips prior to application is must. The creaminess of the product causes it to transfer easily. Though the soufflé has a moisturizing formula, it lacks hydration. The color sets to a nice velvety finish.

When using it as a cheek color, it blends into the skin effortlessly. I normally use Beauty Blender to blend cream blushes properly, but this souffle can be easily blended out using your fingers. I dab a little product on my cheeks and blend it well using my fingers.

It lasts for some 5-6 hours on my lips without any meals or anything. The color loses its intensity after a full meal. Though, it does not bleed or smudge after meals, it settles into the fine lines of the lips. As a blush, the soufflé easily lasts for more than 6 hours on my oily cheeks without any primer. Overall, I like this product.
