Hi friends! This is my first lipstick from NYX; the brand has been on my wish list since long and finally I have inaugurated my hauling from NYX. Let’s read about the product in detail.

My take on NYX Diamond Sparkle Lipstick-Sparkling Red:

Packaging: The NYX Diamond Sparkle Lipstick comes in a square black packaging with a transparent bottom to give a view of the shade it houses. The cap shuts tight and makes it safe to keep in a bag/purse. The packaging is not at all cheap.

Texture and finish: The lipstick soft and creamy in texture. The formula is not too moisturizing neither drying on lips. The texture doesn’t feel smooth on lips because of the shimmers; it is slightly gritty. It contains a dominant amount of silver shimmer, which makes the finish pearly. With no remarkable fragrance, it carries medium opacity. For full coverage, I need two swipes atleast. The bullet is so soft that it has melted and broken; so I use it with a lip brush. I shall have better stored it in a cold place for the temperatures are above 44 degree Celsius!

Colour and pigmentation: The brand has named the shade Sparkling Red but I found it to be a reddish pink shade. I can easily place the shade in rosy pinks rather than calling it a true red. There is a large variety in the range to choose from if you want a sparkling and pearly finish lipstick. The pigmentation is good, though not too rich. It can be easily buildable. The lipstick doesn’t settle in fine lines but the shimmer particles scatter over the hours of wear.

Longevity and transferability: The lipstick lives for 3 hours with little meals and frequent water intake, leaving behind no stain and just shimmer. It is not significantly transfer-able.

• Pearly finish with lots of shimmer.
• Gives a mature look to my face.
• Average staying power.
• Bullet breaks in hot weathers.
• Feels drying on my lips.
• Shimmer particles scatter a bit over the hours of wear ability.
• Leaves behind shimmers with no stain.
• Feels drying on lips.

IMBB Rating:

2.5/5 (because I can’t settle with shimmer in lipsticks)

Recommendation and repurchase of NYX Diamond Sparkle Lipstick-Sparkling Red:
I will try my hands on NYX matte lipsticks soon. I recommend it to those only who like lipsticks with pearly and frosty finish.
