I came across this product during a search for anything with Shea in it after my discovery that Shea butter does marvelous wonders to my curly hair. I was like a tiny ant that keeps collecting every morsel of food that it sees to stock for months to come 😛

My Experience with Organix Shea Butter Smoothing Treatment:

This is intended as a pre-heat product to protect your hair before damaging it with heating wands and dryers, but I use it as a leave in 😛 I know I have weird ways of finding products that suit my needs. Usually nothing works on my dry hair. Whatever product I apply to my dry hair to revive my curls makes it even drier and frizzier. This is the only exception that I know of. It is not so great on wet hair to define curls – they look fray, lifeless and flat, but on dry hair it is a savior. I cannot say that my hair is soaking in moisture or gets zero frizzy.  But this is not as bad as the other products and so that is a deal good enough.

Texture: It is almost like a cross between a cream and a gel and is pale white in colour. It is non sticky, but is a little too thick to smoothly glide on hair as you rub. With a little more liquidity and moisture, this would have been one good leave in.

Smell: The smell is divine! Organix lives up to its name of having divine smelling hair products. The Shea is extremely pronounced. The smell makes you want to eat that nutty buttery goodness. The smell stays on for about 4-5 hours and I love it.

Packaging: The opening is a chunky pump dispenser with a very small opening. I don’t like that because I need a palmful of product to tame my mane and to get that much out of this would require at least 25 pumps!

Pros of Organix Shea Butter Smoothing Treatment:

• Revives dry curls to a good extent.
• Amazing buttery Shea smell.

Cons of Organix Shea Butter Smoothing Treatment:

• Texture is a little thick thus hindering smooth application.
• Opening is very small and takes forever to pump out enough of the product.

Would I Repurchase Organix Shea Butter Smoothing Treatment?

I do not revive dry curls as frequently as I used to before, so I am not going to buy this again.

Do I Recommend Organix Shea Butter Smoothing Treatment?

If you need a product to revive your 2nd or 3rd day dry curls, this is a good buy. It is a good heat protector I guess, so even straight haired women can give this a try.
