You might know that, I keep trying variety of shower gels and body washes. Original source is one of my favorite brands, as their products smell really nice and sweet. I loved their skin quench range of shower gels. Basically, I am not really fond of those hair and body cleansers. But, just to find it out how these products really work, I decided to try out these. I had already reviewed the extreme tingle mint variant here and absolutely loved it. So, here comes the review on the second product called as Original Source Extreme Wake Up Lemon and Chilli Hair and Body Cleanser. Keep reading to know whether it turned out to be hit or a miss for me.

My Experience with Original Source Extreme Wake Up Lemon and Chilli Hair and Body Shower Gel Review:
Let’s begin with the packaging of the product. The shower gel comes in a clear plastic bottle, with yellowish colored shower gel filled into it. The bottle has a typical black colored flip cap, that fits very securely and make the bottle absolutely leak-proof and fit for travel purposes but it is quite bulky for carrying. The bottle bears white, black and red prints on it. The details are printed in quite cool fonts and this is something that I love in their packaging. The back of the bottle has a label bearing each and every detail about the product like its description, ingredients list, etc. Overall, the packaging has no flaws, apart from being a little bulky for carrying during travels.
The hair and body wash is deep mustard yellow in color and it looks quite opaque. I have never come across any shower gels or body washes with such bright colors and opacity. Most of them are translucent. Hence, the vibrant colored gel caught my attention at first sight and the lemon and chili combination was quite intriguing for me. So, I could not resist buying this product. The texture of this hair and body wash is thick and not as runny as most of the shower product. It almost has a gel like texture. The thicker consistency prevents product wastage. Most importantly, I try different shower products to include variety of fragrances to my collection. But, this particular product from original source has disappointed me so much, in terms of its fragrance. I cannot exactly explain how this product smells like but I personally do not like the scent at all. But, I am glad that the smell is not as strong as other original source shower gels. So, the mild fragrance is pretty bearable and not very strong or bothering. Personally, I did not enjoy the smell of this product. Though, the smell has mild citrusy hints in it, but still it does not give me an instant feeling of freshness.
This is a dual-purpose product, that can be used on hair and body both. Though, I keep my hair and body products separate, as we know that hair and body both have different requirements. I prefer using this only as a shower product. But, it can be used both on hair and body, so I used it on my hair for a couple of times, to bring the exact review about the product for you guys. The gel like formula lathers extremely well. But, you will definitely require a good amount to work on whole body, as a coin-sized amount will not do perfectly. It deeply cleanses my skin removing all the dirt and grime from my skin. It feels extremely gentle on my sensitive skin. This product had never caused any skin allergies or other skin ailments on my skin. It nicely cleanses the skin without snatching its moisture. As a result, my skin stays soft and hydrated after shower. It washes off nicely with a few splashes of water, without leaving any film or slippery feel behind. Overall, I like this product as a body wash.
Now, let’s see how it worked as a hair cleanser on my extremely frizzy and wavy hair. I washed my heavily oiled hair with this product and it required really a lot of amount to deeply cleanse the hair. It lathers pretty well and cleanses my hair nicely but it requires a good amount for proper cleansing. It did not make my hair any softer and smoother. I skipped my conditioner to see the exact results.
And the results were so disappointing. My hair becomes so rough, dry and frizzy. All the moisture from my hair was almost gone and they almost looked like a broom. So, I need to apply some hair serum immediately to make my hair soft, smooth, shiny and manageable. My hair got so many tangles and it became so difficult for me to make them smooth manageable.
Overall, this is just an average body wash and there is nothing special about this product.

Cons of Original Source Extreme Wake Up Lemon and Chilli Hair and Body Shower Gel Review:
• Smells weird.
• Not a refreshing fragrance.
• Not a great hair cleanser.
• Dries out the hair badly.
• Makes hair rough and difficult to manage .
• Using a hair conditioner or a hair serum is just mandatory to keep hair manageable.
