Outfit of the Day: Fiery Orange Traditional Sari with Polki Ancestral Jewelry
Hola Amigos!
I am gradually getting myself in the sync of being a gang member of the IMBB troop. Reading IMBB is like modus operandi now for me. Looking at Rati’s fabulous pictures, her experiences with the places she visits, all of you who share your outfits, DIY’s, make up tutorials and much more. It seems it’s a little world of us here and we are a virtual gang of gossip girls and the list is just expanding day by day, Amen!
Coming to the outfit, I recently attended my best friend’s wedding. After trying out many saris, I was unsure and was not able to decide what to wear and eventually this orange sari caught my attention.
I normally don’t experiment much with the sari draping styles. I like to keep it simple. If I want to give a more traditional touch, I wrap it with the front palla sometimes. I bought this sari for my school farewell and it’s very close to my heart. It has a very heavy dabka and kundan karigari work on it. The fabric is georgette which of course camouflages well on any body type.
I don’t like much of makeup; however, the interest is developing with full zeal (Thanks to IMBB Tutorials ;)). I kept the makeup minimal for the evening with a little blush on my face and basic eye liner. Applied a little gloss to highlight my lips.
I chose to wear my ancestral jewelry with the outfit, so I wore the turquoise jhumki with a polki pearl strands neck piece. I completed the look with my most favorite sequined gold clutch which almost goes with everything traditional I wear.
Outfit Details:
• Sari: Kanika
• Jewelry: Ancestral family jewelry
• Clutch: Accessorize
• Wedges : Espirit.
Hope you enjoyed the pictures. I have also added a picture with the pretty bride. Thanks for all the lovely comments and the love you showered on my last post. Will keep sharing goodness with you !
Lots of Love!

HI mamta,
can u do a post on sari for non sari wearers about the stuff to buy . there are so many options chiffon, gorgette etc. regarding the ease to wear and carry; durability ; the type of body that can carry that stuff etc.. there are hardly good articles reagarding that thing. you seemed like the right person.
It sounds really a good idea. I will surely start working upon it and I am a huge saree lover. So huge collection too….thanks for the idea Jhanvi
