Outfit of the Day: Heavy Dupatta Suit
Hi friends…
My darling brother, Konark, got married on the 27th last month. I thought why not share my happiness with all you lovely IMBBians. Everything went just perfect for both the families, all the rituals went on smoothly and now we have a new special member in our family- my extremely lovely bhabhi.
So, I will be sharing few ethnic outfits that I wore on different ceremonies. Ours was a Punjabi wedding. So, the first occasion was mehndi ceremony which takes place in both the groom’s and the bride place. The sister, mother and few other ladies of the groom’s family go to the bride’s place with a ‘ thaal’ on which mehndi, haldi, rice, sugar, anklet, toe ring and a few cosmetics are placed. This suit was worn by me on the same occasion.
The main attraction of this suit was its heavy georgette dupatta on which flower work is done and is bordered with pink and green velvet and small pearls. The kurti is made of some different material which is stiffer than the pure cotton and softer than ‘aarkandi’ but I do not know the name of the exact material. The bottom was actually of Georgette but instead of getting that stitched; I purchased a body fitting black trouser to give it a smart and different look than my other suit.
For the sleeves also, I purchased designer net separately, git it died in pink color matching with the bordered of the dupatta and got it stitched. For the hair, I have made a small poof and left them open. On my face, I have Dabur uveda cream on my face. Since the function was at night, I applied Maybelline dream liquid mousse in nude light shade mixed with dabur uveda cream around my eyes. Kryolan black eyeliner for the eyes and Revlon Rosy nude on lips.
Hope you liked it. Take care.
