Outfit of the Day: Red Anarkali with Blue Embroidery

Outfit of the Day: Red Anarkali with Blue Embroidery

Hi everybody,

Here is another ethnic outfit post for you. This is a red georgette anarkali suit with blue embroidery on neck and “ghera.” For me, red symbolizes festivity. Most of my ethnic outfits have red in it. I wore this outfit on the “ghada ghadauli” ceremony of my brother’s marriage.

I am wearing blue golden earrings, golden bangles and a red- golden ring for the accessories.

Blue earrings

Also, I am wearing my silver anklet to complete the “naari” look” 😛

The mehndi in my hands had grown darker in two days and I loved it.

On the face, the same Dabur Uveda Cream, Kryolan Ikonic Gel Eyeliner in Blue and Colorbar Caffe Latte on the lips.

About the “ghada ghadauli” ceremony, this takes place on the day of marriage. The sister of the groom/bride carries a “ghada” on her head and walks to a holy place- a temple/gurudwara along with 20-30 close relatives. All the relatives dance along the way on the beats of the dhol beaten by the dhol-wala. She fills the “ghada” with the water from the holy place and takes it back the same way- dancing along with the relatives. The groom/bride take bath with the same holy water on that day.
