My Experience with Perricone MD Intensive Pore Minimizer:
The skin care industry is a little overwhelming these days because of so many brands with complex sounding chemicals. There has been a tremendous growth in the list of brands to choose from and different genres of products that claim to offer miraculous glow to the skin and cure all skin ailments. But, alas, most claims are way too exaggerated, hence it needs a little research to sieve out the disappointing products from the potent ones. With the reviews and ingredient list in mind, I decided to invest in this face toner.
The product comes in a 4 fl oz size glass bottle with a twist up cap on top. The bottle is made of brown, translucent glass and perhaps there is a reason behind it – some chemicals are sensitive to light. The bottle is very simple and no-nonsense kind and reminds me of vintage, apothecary bottles.
This toner has a short ingredient list which is very appealing to me as I detest products which have a high content of alcohol and sulphates. This toner contains a very essential ingredient to improve skin elasticity – DMAE (Dimethylethanolamine), which is an essential ingredient to addresses the loss of skin elasticity. It also contains Alpha Lipoic Acid which gently exfoliates the skin, improving skin tone and texture. It contains salicylic acid which removes dirt and oil from the pores.
This product has an unpleasant smell – it smells like a household cleaner. A lot of people in their reviews wrote that it is a fast working formula and they noticed an overnight reduction in their pore sizes. That did not happen for me but what did happen for me after two nights of use is that I got fair, clearer skin and got a kind of luminosity to my skin.
I have been using this toner for two weeks now and although the pores are still the same size my face is shinier and fairer. It is expensive and might take a while to work on the pores but its influence on the overall health of the skin is immediate.
