I am hooked on to blushes like nobody’s business and I am loving trying out blushes from various brands. I had picked up the Pixi Sheer Cheek Gel blush recently in the shade “Flushed.” This is my first blush in a gel/stain format and hence I did not know what to expect. Read on to find out if I liked it or not.
Sheer gel blush creates a natural-looking and long-lasting cheek flush to brighten and beautify your complexion in an instant. This sheer, translucent gel creates a super natural flush of colour – the key to a youthful face. Applies easily with fingers for a fresh and healthy burst of colour on cheeks and lips. Keeps cheeks looking fresh and healthy all day long without the need for any touch ups. Oil free, fragrance free and hypoallergenic. Hydrating, moisturizing and skin-conditioning.
How To Wear:
Blend a small amount into the apples of the cheeks – use a sweeping movement rather than rubbing. Layer under cheek powder or bronzer to extend wear without having to touch up.
My Experience with Pixi by Petra Flushed Sheer Cheek Gel:
Packaging: The blush comes in a simple transparent tube packaging. It has a screw on cap and hence there is no danger of the cap coming off accidentally. The tube is quite small, but honestly, you only need a very tiny amount of the product and hence it should last for a while. I like that the tube is transparent and it is easy to know how much product is remaining.
Color and Pigmentation: I had ordered this product online and honestly, I was a bit intimidated when I first saw this blush in the tube. It appears a deep berry red in the tube. I immediately squirted a small amount onto my hands and thought I had a product which resembled raspberry jam. I thought I had made a huge mistake ordering this blush. But once blended, it pretty much sheers out and leaves behind a reddish stain. I feel that this shade is a bit too dark for me and I need to be careful to use a very tiny amount. But it will be a beautiful stain for someone with a deeper skin tone.
Texture/Finish/Lasting Power: This blush has a gel-like texture – it is not too runny nor is it creamy and thick. It blends very easily into the skin and you do not need too much effort with this blush. However, you need to be careful with the amount you are applying. This is a stain and hence it is difficult to undo a mistake. The best approach is to start with a tiny dot and build upon it if needed.
I personally just dab this blush in with my fingers and do not use a brush. You need to be careful not to rub the blush in or you might end up rubbing off your foundation. Since this is a stain, it pretty much looks like second skin and gives off a very natural look. It sure adds a lovely flush of color to the cheeks.
The color is long lasting and stays on for almost the whole day.

Cons of Pixi by Petra Flushed Sheer Cheek Gel:
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Pixi by Petra Flushed Sheer Cheek Gel?
I would definitely recommend you to try out this blush as it has a pretty good formula. I will not repurchase the exact shade as it is slightly dark for me.
