My Experience with Revlon Tulip Ultra HD Lipstick:
Packaging: The lipstick comes in a silver tube with a clear plastic cap. The cap fits tightly which makes it travel friendly. The shade name and number are printed on a sticker at the bottom of the tube, the color of the sticker being the same as the lipstick color. This makes it easy to spot the color when stored with the label on top.
This packaging does have a big drawback. The lipstick bullet does not swivel down completely into the silver tube and the top of the lipstick bullet is still exposed when you are taking off or putting the cap back on. Unless you are very, very careful, you cannot avoid nicking the lipstick with the cap. Another point to note is that the quantity you get is only 3 gm, as compared to the standard 4 gm.
Color and Pigmentation: “Tulip” is a beautiful peachy coral shade. While the shade itself is quite pretty, it is slightly light for my medium skin tone. On my pigmented lips, it takes a few swatches to build an almost opaque color.
Scent: The lipstick has a mild sweet scent which disappears soon after application.
Texture and Finish: This lipstick has a slightly glossy finish. Revlon describes this formula as a wax-free gel. It feels very slick and creamy when you apply it on your lips. It glides easily without any patchiness. It does not dry out the lips and feels quite comfortable and lightweight on the lips. I find the formula comparable to the Maybelline Color Whisper lipsticks. It does not accentuate dry spots on the lips.
Staying Power: Lasting power is quite low for this particular shade. I get about 2 hours before it starts fading, but the lipstick fades evenly without looking patchy. Due to the creaminess, it does transfer quite a bit and will not be able to survive a meal. It does not leave any tint on the lips.
Pros of Revlon Tulip Ultra HD Lipstick:
- Beautiful peachy coral shade.
- Creamy and moisturizing.
- Travel friendly and color-coded packaging.
- Good pigmentation.
- Does not accentuate dry spots on the lips.
- Does not dry out the lips.
Cons of Revlon Tulip Ultra HD Lipstick:
- Packaging – the lipstick bullet does not swivel down completely.
- Lasting power is low.
- Quantity you get is lesser than a normal lipstick.
Do I Recommend Revlon Tulip Ultra HD Lipstick?
Though this is a pretty coral shade, I would recommend this particular shade only if you have non-pigmented lips.
