I needed an illuminating solution for my dark areas around the nose, lips and to blur those sun spots all over my face hence, I picked the Light-Peach shade and I am happy with this choice. Moreover, I already own the green redness correcting solution in Algenist hence, I wanted a creamy crayon peach corrector this time. I will soon get this stick in Green and Lavender as well. Product Description:
What it is:
A collection of buildable, creamy skin tone-evening sticks to transform the complexion with precise application.

What it does:
Seamlessly achieve complexion perfection with Smashbox’s collection of Color Correcting Sticks, creamy sticks in an array of shades to target skin concerns. It minimizes the appearance of a late night out or reduces the look of rosacea with just a swipe of these blendable shades. The Green shade instantly reduces redness, Lavender brightens sallowness/yellowness, and the Peach (for light skintones) and Orange (for deeper skintones) are perfect for illuminating your skin to conceal dark circles and hyper pigmentation. Infused with moisturizing vitamin E to blur the look of fine lines and pores, they create natural-looking color when applied with foundation or concealer. Each pencil-like tip allows you to easily erase imperfections so your best skin stays looking naturally radiant.

My Experience with Smashbox Color Correcting Stick (Light) – Peach:

The color correcting stick comes in sharpenable pencil packaging with a tight cap along with a sharpener, thankfully. I am not a fan of sharpenable pencils though I understand that retractable packaging can be tricky for such creamy crayons. I find it pretty user-friendly and travel-friendly.

The creamy light peach shade is a good match for my skin tone as it does not interfere with my foundation or face powder nor does it make me look peachy-yellow in pictures. I see that it effectively blurs those dark areas around the edges of my lips and nose apart from giving me a radiant, energetic skin tone. It does not show up through makeup either. How cool is this? I remember, during one of my makeover sessions at Sephora, the makeup artist had applied a similar cream crayon on my skin tone to give me bright and even skin tone. Since then I had been looking for this shade and I am glad I finally managed to get my hands on this effortless creamy concealer aka corrector.

Oh yes, I hardly feel a need of using a concealer over this product as it alone blurs almost 90% of my light sun spots, dullness and dark areas. It can then be easily blended with a layer of foundation; it does not look uneven or made up. It comes way naturally and seamlessly on my oily skin. Talking about the texture of this pencil, it is way creamy and easily blendable with even finger tips or with a beauty blender sponge or even with your synthetic brush. I prefer patting it with my finger tips for best coverage & finish.

And then, I am all set to layer it on with any sheer to medium coverage foundation or skin tint. Impressive, huh? I also love the fact that I can never go overboard with this product as it just blends without any cakey or chalky finish, plus I only need 1-2 swipes for complete coverage around the darker areas. Thankfully I don’t have dark circles hence, I cannot vouch for its performance on dark circles or hyper pigmentation. But, I do need coverage over under-eye shadows, darker areas around nose/lips and also for mild sun spots, and it gives me perfect results.

It is also quite impressive to see that it neither settles into the fine lines or into my large pores nor does it ever aggravate my oily skin concerns. I never feel any dryness around my eyes or oiliness even after 5+ hours of wear time. It also tells that the product lasts really long on my oily skin tone without fading or transferring into patches. This is my first experience with a crayon stick hence, I cannot compare it to any other brand, but I can certainly claim that we all need one such crayon in our makeup kit for ease of application and for long lasting results.

I would definitely like to get it again along with other shades even though I dislike sharpening it after every second usage. Oh yes, the only drawback for me as of now is the pain of sharpening it, which leads to wastage. Other than that, I am pretty happy and I highly recommend this pencil to every makeup junkie.

• Please don’t mind my exhausted skin as I am still recovering from dry hot weather and post trip fatigue.
