Softsoap has launched their new range called “Luminous Oils Body Wash” in two scents: “Avocado Oil and Iris” and “Macadamia Oil and Peony”. Avocado Oil and Iris offers a touch of luxurious oil made with real avocado oil and essence of iris whereas Macadamia Oil and Peony is made with real macadamia extract oil and essence of peony. Both these washes are made with products that are excellent for maintaining the skin. I picked up both the products. Now, let’s get into the review.

Ingredients:
Inactive Ingredients: Water, sodium laureth sulfate, cocamidopropyl betaine, fragrance, sodium chloride, cocamide MEA, sodium salicylate, sodium benzoate, citric acid, polyquaternium-7, tetrasodium EDTA, nonfat dry milk, persea gratissima (avocado) oil, iris germanica root extract, D&C yellow no. 10, FD&C red no.4
Usage:
Squeeze a small amount onto a wet body pouf and indulge yourself in the fragrant, moisture-rich lather.
Packaging:
This comes in a tall transparent bottle. The front and back both have a sticker each that displays the name, picture of the product and the ingredients. It has a simple and attractive packaging. The transparent bottles are a saviour since you know how much quantity has been used. The cap is a nice ‘press to open’ type. This helps to control the amount of the liquid you are using. The cap is tightly sealed so the body wash doesn’t leak or drip. I picked up a huge bottle and this isn’t travel-friendly (didn’t see any other size option).
Fragrance:
This body wash has a very, very strong fragrance which is not to my liking. It mellows down after the shower but it’s really distracting and bothersome.
My Experience with Softsoap Luminous Oils Body Wash Avocado Oil and Iris:
This wash is a transparent yellow liquid with a good consistency and it foams well. It works best with a loofah, just like any other shower gel. A little amount is good enough and this bottle will last you very long.
The best part about this body wash is that it has avocado oil (that’s the only oil in the ingredient list). The skin feels smooth, silky and so moisturized post wash. At times I skip the post-shower body lotion, and still, the skin feels smooth and good. It doesn’t leave an oily cast, but at the same time, it gives a good sheen and moisture to the skin. This can be used all year long and works well in all seasons.
The best part is that it is natural and moisturises the skin well. I have very dry and sensitive skin and this has really helped in keeping it soft and supple. It contains SLS, as mentioned in the description. What I dislike about this product is that it has a strong and disturbing smell. The smell doesn’t last long but I prefer subtle smelling body washes.
