Softsoap has launched their new range called “Luminous Oils Body Wash” in two scents: “Avocado Oil & Iris” and “Macadamia Oil & Peony”. Avocado Oil & Iris offers a touch of luxurious oil made with real avocado oil and essence of iris whereas, Macadamia Oil & Peony is made with real macadamia extract oil and essence of peony. Both these washes are made with products that are excellent for maintaining the skin. I picked up both the products. Now, let’s get into the review.

Product Description:

Usage:
Squeeze a small amount onto a wet body pouf and indulge yourself in the fragrant, moisture-rich lather.
Fragrance:
This body wash has a very subtle and sweet smell. It mellows down after the shower, but still a light scent lingers.
Ingredients:
Inactive Ingredients: Water, sodium laureth sulfate, cocamidopropyl betaine, fragrance, sodium chloride, cocamide MEA, sodium salicylate, sodium benzoate, citric acid, polyquaternium-7, tetrasodium EDTA, nonfat dry milk, persea gratissima (avocado) oil, iris germanica root extract, D&C yellow no. 10, FD&C red no.4
Packaging:
This comes in a tall transparent bottle. The front and back has a sticker that displays the name, picture of the product and the ingredients at the back. It has a simple and attractive packaging. Transparent bottles are a saviour, since you will know how much quantity has been used.
The cap is a turn on type with a nice press to open. This helps to control the amount of the liquid you are using. The cap is tightly sealed so that the body wash doesn’t leak or drip. I picked up a huge bottle and this isn’t travel-friendly (didn’t see any other size options).
My Experience with Softsoap Luminous Oils Macadamia Oil and Peony Body Wash:
This wash is a transparent yellow liquid with a good consistency, and it foams well. It works best with a loofah just like any other body wash. A little amount is good enough and this will last you very long.
The best part about this range is that it has avocado oil (that’s the only oil in the ingredient list), though they claim to be a luminous oil range. Skin feels smooth, silky and moisturized post wash. At times, I have skipped the post shower body lotion, and still the skin feels smooth and good. It doesn’t leave an oily cast, but at the same time gives a good sheen and moisture to the skin. This can be used all year long and works good in all seasons.
The best part is that it is natural and moisturises the skin well. I have very dry and sensitive skin and this has really helped in keeping it soft and supple. It contains SLS as mentioned in the description.
