My Experience with Sugar Cosmetics Matte As Hell Crayon Lipstick Rose Dawson
If you don’t already know my obsession with these lipstick crayons from Sugar Cosmetics, you should know that these are these lip crayons are stars of my kit. Not only I have the full range now, I also have doubles of some of the shades. 😀
Rose Dawson is a new shade in the range. It is a gorrrgeous rose pink color. When I saw it first, I felt that it was pretty similar to Holly Golightly. But when I saw and swatched them side by side, I noticed that Holly Golightly is more peachy and this is more rose pink. I think both are exxxcellent every day colors. I feel those with medium to dusky skin tones, Rose Dawson is a better MLBB shade. I personally loved the color. It adds that little freshness to the face even on a dull day. 🙂
These come in form of sharpenable lip crayons. Each pencil comes with its own sharpener. I really like sharpenable pencils. Although sharpening leads to a waste of product but I find them extremely hygienic compared to the retractable ones. The texture is velvetty matte. They go on powdery creamy on lips and settle to a full matte finish. They don’t have any smell or taste to them. I find that these transfer very little. They are free of mineral oil, parabens, paraffin, phenoxyethanols, volatile cyclomethicones (D4, D5, D6) and animal derived ingredients.
The staying power of Rose Dawson is around 5 hours on me and it leaves a lovely soft pink stain behind. It pretty much survives a full meal and a my endless cups of coffee. It goes on smoothly on lips. And although it is a matte, it is a very comfortable to wear. If you have very dry lips, I’d highly suggest that you apply a light layer of lip balm underneath. It does not feather or bleed. On bad lips days it does accentuate the fine lines of my lips but nothing crazy. It still looks pretty decent as compared to some of the other mattes I have in my kit. It also feels lightweight on lips.
I really don’t know what more to say about these lip crayons. I rarely ever travel without these. The colors are gorgeous. There is something for everyone. They look good, feel good, are available in India and have the loveliest matte finish. Highly recommend these. 🙂
