My Experience with TIGI Catwalk Smooth and Shine Blow Out Balm:
Packaging: TIGI catwalk blow out balm, comes packaged in a black coloured bottle with a black coloured cap, which has a nozzle spray pump attached. This black coloured bottle has a magenta coloured label, which has all product details mentioned. The nozzle spray pump has a twist open and close mechanism to lock/close, when not in use. The 90ml size of the bottle and the twist open and close mechanism makes this packaging travel friendly.
Since childhood; I had very fine, straight, soft and silky hair. My hair was straight and silky to the extent, that ribbons and clips would slip out of my hair. Alas! Currently, my hair is very fragile; texture is untamed and frizzy, tends to become rough and dry, damage and break easily. Yes, it’s me and only me; to blame for not caring for such beautiful hair! I never or hardly used to apply hair oil, frequently colour my hair; highlights and lowlights. Extreme weather conditions, hot water head baths, chlorine treated tap water, heat and continuous exposure to air conditioners have also contributed in damaging my hair. Currently, I am using a good brand Ayurvedic hair oil, shampoo and almond oil; which has definitely helps. However, I do not use a conditioner; hence I feel the need to use a good serum after washing my hair.
On my visits to the salon, I had noticed that before blow drying my hair, my hair stylist always used a serum, which would make my hair soft, smooth and give a glossy shine to my hair. I checked with the lady about this product and she said it was TIGI Catwalk Blow out Balm. I asked the salon owner to suggest me a good serum for my unruly hair and was handed TIGI catwalk blow out balm; stating it is better than any normal serums available in the market and will help protect hair from heat and damage. Since, my hair tends to be more unruly on the first day of my hair bath; I prefer to apply this blow out balm on the day I wash my hair. It’s a semi-white coloured serum, which has a slightly runny consistency. Does not feel oily or sticky, has a smooth soft feel. Two sprays are sufficient to smoothen out my thin to medium shoulder length hair, depending on the serum pumped out. The serum quantity pumped out, tends to vary with the pressure applied on the spray pump. I spray it on my palms and then rub it on my palms and fingers, before applying on my hair. I usually apply immediately after washing my hair, after removing the excess water from my hair.
At times, I apply to almost dry/mildly moist hair. This catwalk blow out balm can be used on dry and wet hair. Helps to remove the frizz, detangle and smoothen my hair. Gives mild lustre and shine to my hair. Does not flatten out my hair or make them oily or sticky. However, the day I apply this balm I notice a bit extra hair fall, but this also happens when I use a conditioner. The balm effect last for two to three days once applied, till I wash my hair again. However, does not retain the style till next morning or after sleeping. Hair needs to be restyled or redone again as desired. I have to be careful not to over apply. It has a beautiful fragrance which easily last for a day or two.
I do not use a blow dryer or straightening iron or any heated hair styling equipments at home, so is this blow out balm a must for me? Was my question to the salon owner and the reply was “TIGI is a good brand, I always recommend it to all my clients and this blow out balm will give good protection for your chemically treated and damaged hair”. I am quite content with this styling serum. I will give thumps up to this product, also for using prior to blow drying or using heated hair styling equipment. Since, I have personally experienced it on my several trips to the salon. My hair stylist usually applies tigi catwalk blow out balm on my hair, immediately after washing and conditioning my hair; prior to blow-drying. Formula contains shield forming and shine enhancing ingredients to help resist heat; while providing illuminating shine. However, in my opinion, it’s highly priced!

I definitely recommend TIGI Catwalk blow out balm to all those who use blow dryers, hair straightening irons and heated hair styling equipments on regular basis or frequently. I may not purchase, if I find an equally good serum at a better price.
